Anybody from the San Antonio area checking this out? I'd like to know about any Mustang performance shops in S.A. and maybe even an outstanding body/hot rod shop for a paint job.

I'm in San Antonio also. I live near Sea World. Only thing I'm aware of is the San Antonio autoshow at the end of september/early october. Or if you can't wait that long there are autoshows in Dallas and Houston this spring.

AFBLUE, I'm in the Navy and was stationed at Lackland for 4 years. Navy Law Enforcement school Admin support. I lived out by 1604 and (inbetween) Culebra and Bandera roads. I'm retiring from the Navy in less then 4 years and looking to settle back in S.A. I know there are some Mustang shops there but just trying to find out who has had good luck with which shop.

Sorry, I misunderstood. I've used the Hotrod store of Texas, at 10624 IH 35 N. They installed a Tri-Axe shifter, fixed a busted radiator cap, and changed out a thermostat for me. Minor stuff but no complaints with the service.

Guy that owns it is named Benny.

I live off 1604 between military and potranco.

Mark, I got your email, thanks. I'll check out their website. I just don't want to go to a place like I found in the Seattle area. They said they were a Mustang performance shop but they just added it on to their import tuner store. No thanks.

sean102385,

Yeah you live pretty close. I live in the West Creek Subdivision off 1604. How was your experience with Alamo classic? Do they work on newer mustangs?

I have only had good experiences with Alamo Classic. They mostly work on older mustangs, but i'm pretty sure that they could work on newer mustangs also, but I have never asked.

I've lived in the san antonio area for over 8 years. Some very well respected performance shops are Automotive Specialties, dealing with nothing but mustangs. There's also the hot rod store, mustang extreme racing, team extreme mustang and alamo performance. I've heard pretty much nothing but praise for these shops. As for paint work, I would strongly suggest mustang extreme racing. If you need directions to any of these, let me know. They're all great shops.

If you're looking to buy a new gt, I would suggest jennings anderson ford in boerne. It's about 30 miles outside of san antonio. That's where I bought my 04 mach 1. They have some awesome deals on 04 mach s as well as gts. I've never been treated as well anywhere else. www.jenningsandersonford.com

I test drove an azure blue 04 Mach 1, at jenning anderson back in december 03. I did a better business search on them and a few other Ford dealers in the S.A. area.

If my memory is correct, jennings has some complaint against them.
May want to double check this though. BBB has a web page you can go to to check online.

I'm not trying to step on anyones toes, but the description under this section did read:
Post Club or Event Information and Meet Stangers in Your Area
So here goes:

You guys should check out www.LoneStarStangs.com for meeting people in the San Antonio/Texas area. We have weekly meets in San Antonio, Houston, and College Station. We are always looking to expand to other areas of Texas. We just added Dallas/Ft Worth section, and a Rio Grande Valley section.

So if you live in El Paso, Lubbock, etc, etc ... throw me a PM on LSS, and we'll try to help get your area going.

Just thought I'd pass along the info ...

In Houston we meet up at Ottos on Saturdays off of Hwy 59 & Fountain Lake Dr (right next to Lowes theater)

In San Antonio we meet up at Biffs on Saturdays (hit up LSS for directions)
