Thoughts, miscellaneous ramblings and images from the MCA 30th
Well after nearly a year in the planning, the TMS meet at the MCA 30th Anniversary has come and gone. I tend to ramble, so this diary of sorts might jump around a bit
Thursday: Burke0011 arrived at my house at about 530pmET or so. That evening we packed my car while my wife wrapped up my factory 17" Bullitts w/tires to sell to phoneguy in Birmingham. The 245am alarm clock never went off because I was up 5min before
We left at 315, headed for Ocala to meet up with mustangshadow (Perry), photolabgirl (Jackie) and runfox (Tim). Here's the group at Steak & Shake for breakfast

We hit I-75 north at 630am ET after gassing up and getting all the walkie-talkies in synch. Luckily all of the cars and the driver's bladders were pretty much in synch as well

The drive up was luckily uneventful for the most part, save for an errant piece of something that left its mark on Perry's hood
Very little rain, and not a single love bug.
We arrived at the hotel at 230pmCT. Stangnut (Jason) arrived as we were unloading the tires from our cars. The room wasn't ready so we found a place to wash the cars to get ready for the cruise from Barber to Homewood. The line of cars at Barber was unbelievable!

Once we arrived at Homewood (after being separated from the rest of the group), it was a very controlled mayhem

And Perry & Jackie got interviewed by The History Channel!!!!

Friday: We met up with several fellow TMS folks at Vulcan Park to cruise to Barber (I can't wait to see the video):
Doug from BamaChips

Once we arrived, the parking was handled brilliantly IMO. Each participant basically had a reserved spot for the weekend. Here's a shot of the level we were on:

I can't recall the guy's name on the far left, but here's Jason, Doug, Dave and Tim:

No one would take my $5 to put their tongue on the horse's ***** LOL

Hello, after market, are you listening? Talk about brilliant engineering! The air comes in through the filter, then an extremely short runner, then the TB, another extremely short runner, then into the blower. Ford are you paying attention?

I don't know how you people in Birmingham put up with the traffic on 280 - that crap is INSANE:

Dinner at Logan's on Friday night!

We had to talk runfox out of putting this fancy licence plate frame on his car

Saturday: It was just as hot as it was on Friday. Here's how Jason dealt with the heat:

A beautiful sight:

You too can have one of these for $500, as modeled by myself and Jason:

One tired group of people:

We all hit dinner at Jim and Nick's BBQ (I think that's the place) for a few hours. Good food and good times
Sunday: The drive home was nowhere near as monotonous as I thought it was going to be. Just south of Macon GA, 3 late model modified Vettes hit the interstate, all with FL tags
We tailed them well into FL, often at a clip of 85-90MPH. I was home 30min earlier than expected.
The entire trip, from start to finish, was fantastic. Great people made the difference. No ego's, bragging, power trips, etc. Only good hearted ribbing and one conversation after the other being drug into the gutter LOL. Pig in a potato patch anyone? How about a pickle in a pouch?
The entire group of pics can be seen here http://s63.photobucket.com/albums/h1...ham/?start=all

Great great story line Dave
It was great meeting all of you.
Btw, we got lucky enough to be standing next to that pro-street car when the guy cranked it up and drove it off....

(Grumble) Mach still in Ohio, not my garage (grumble)
Thursday I carried on like normal- DMV, Shopping, Got Home Brian said you gotta go get the kids and meet me on 280. We met up with everyone and went on a wild chase to stick bullitts on the tungsten. In process of doing this, two Timber Rattlers were killed(no joke).
We finally got done around 6, and headed up to Homewood. Met up with Tommy and waited on the parade to blow through- You all who were in it, it was even more impressive to see it come through led by all the mustang police cars.
Friday morning the girl and I woke up too early and headed up to Vulcan. LOTS of beautiful cars! Made it up to Vulcan, stupid me didn't pre register so I got stuck up on the hill. Brian and the boy met up with us around lunch and we grabbed a bite. We left out around 3 to head home and shower(and put toys on the cars). Met up at Logan's at 7 for dinner with everyone and headed home to SLEEP!
Saturday I wish I wouldn't have went- we rolled in around noon, and were out of there by 1:15.
And Sunday, I got an extra treat- All the cars going home on I-65 as I was going to my Mothers to drop off the kids.
GREAT WEEKEND! Great to meet everyone!

Here is my burning question.....
I love Whupass peanuts from Bass Pro. And Cajun Jerky.
Why was it supposed to be open two years ago and ground isn't even broken yet?

You all have sick cars.
Now all Brian wants to do is find more toys for his(and sometimes mine) because he liked all yours so much. I think he has the local mod shop on speed dial now.

Yea- he's trying to recruit me in his schemes now...
My order from UPR is in, Can you swing by and pick it up while you are out tomorrow? (we have a place that orders whatever we want here).
Only if I get an equal amount of toy money for mine
