Sorry for this mass post, I did a few searches and came up empty so figured I'd give this a try.

SF Bay Area (East or South Bay)

Just trying to see if anyone out there has any good recommendations for a Tuner for my 06 GT. I want to get a CAI installed and tuned. Apex Motorsports seems a bit overpriced so hopefully there are some others out there.

TIA!

Vinny

What tuner do you have for your CAI? Predator or SCT (or something else)?

I don't know how far out you are willing to travel, but if Stockton isn't too far Alterspeed in French Camp is excellent. I bought my Predetor from them, they tuned it and dynoed it to 302 rwhp.

If all you are going to do is install a CAI, do it yourself. Even a first-timer can do it in 30 minutes or less. As far as a tuner goes, I would suggest buying one from one of the great sponsors here. Personally, I recommend an SCT X2 from Doug @ Bamachips. But they all do good work. IMO, there is no need to go to a shop for a tune for just a CAI. If you add additional mods later, then maybe a dyno tune would be money well spent.

Thanks for the responses.

I Think I'm gonna go ahead and do it myself for the CAI.

Cheers,
Vinny

make a trip to sacramento mustang. Their shop carries the new C&l intakes with the predator tuner. The performance shop behind it, JT's performance, is a great place to do the installs. They give a good price to people who buy from sacramento mustang. If you plan on buying from SacMustang, ask for steve. He got all my parts smoothly and fast.

Personally, living in vallejo, id rather make a longer drive to sacmustang rather than apex because of prices and also customer service. The installs at apex is just too pricey.. $100-hr.......ouch for my wallet....
