Some of you folks come and join us for an old-fashioned good time!
A few of us Mustang nuts are going to drive our cars from Lexington NC to Boone NC and cruise the parkway for a while. Picnic at Price Park on the BRP outside of Blowing Rock, then turn around and head back towards home.

There's NO FEE, NO RULES, and NO REASON not to come have fun.
We've already got verbal commitments from about 15 folks ranging from 1st generation cars, a 2005 red GT, an NC Trooper car, a Florida Trooper car, and everything in between.

Family environment - I will have my wife and 7y/o with me in fact.
Half of the folks are husband/wife, others are "car buddies", and participants ages are 7 to 60 right now.

We'll take a few photo ops on the overlooks of the Parkway, and we'll pile into a parking lot or two along the way - we'll get attention... and it'll be a blast!!!

My dad might want to join in on that. Were in Hickory. I dont think he would want to go to Lexington but he might meet up somwhere with you guys. Ill tell him once he gets back from cruzin up in Valdese.

We are going up 64 to 901 to 421, then to Wilkesboro for a stop at McDonalds on 421. After that we go up the mountain on 421 to the parkway and go south to Price Park for picnic and recreation. After that, it's basicaly back the same way.

We opted not to go up 321 because of the traffic and congestion through Lenoir area. I-40 to Hickory would be a blast though. If interest is good, and especially if you guys from the area could help us find a smooth route, we could come back that way.

Since there's no registration, we have no exact count, but I'm guessing we have about 20 or more at this point. Should be a great time.

Love to have your dad and anybody else come and join us!

I'd say most definitely so - since it started as me and a few friends riding together for fun anyways. You know we are going to keep doing that, so it just depends on if anybody else wants to go!

Don't have a date set for another one yet. Any suggestions?

Hi Greer! My wife & I are thinking about joining in on the cruise. I'm not familiar with Lexington so could you give some directions to the PPG lot? We'll be driving north from Concord and can use either I85 or Rt. 52, whichever is the best route. Thanks.

I dont think we are ging to make it. May dad isnt sure about driving his down the mountain with the brakes that are on it. Might catch you next time though.

I'd sure love to take that ride with you all especially with the great weather we've been having, but my car I ordered just isnt in yet altho it has been shipped I'll be up for any future events, so I'll be keeping an eye out for any future postings.

From 85 north, get on business 85 north just outside of Lexington. About 2.5 miles after the I-85/business 85 split there will be another split. Stay on business 85 (hwy 52 will veer left - YOU STAY RIGHT on business 85!) Watch your speed - it drops from 65 to 55 and it's a speed trap area. Take the second exit (will be Center Street - the exit is a very sharp 180 turn that goes down a short hill to a stop sign. Turn left and go up the hill (200yds) to the stoplight. Turn left, and the PPG building will be about 400 yds down on the right hand side.

Also, you can pop 719 W. Center St, Lexington NC into Mapquest if you like.

Dude, we would love to have you guys make it!
We will start gathering around 8:30, and leave around 9:15 or so. First stop will be McDonalds in Mocksville.

(I found a loose ball joint on my 91 SSP last night, so I will fall back to the '93 vert for tomorrow's ride.)

Just wanted to say "Thank you" to Greer and Tim for putting this pony trail together! Margie & I had a great time and really enjoyed the "tour". It was especially nice to meet and spend the day with everybody.

For those of you that couldn't make it, keep an eye out for the next one! It was a blast!! Thanks again, guys! Hope to see you all again soon.
