Not worried about gas prices
#1
Just drove around Pensacola for an hour looking for gas. That in itself was a waste. I found two stations with gas with lines from 2 to 3 hours long. I couldn't wait that long due to obligations.
Anybody else in the Southeast having this problem?

Gas shortage rumors have created quite a panic in many parts of Florida (and I'm sure other parts of the US as well). I talked with a few people in Jacksonville last week who were having problems finding gas but it seems that things have calmed down a bit and there is not a real problem here... well, except for the problem of finding the money to pay for the gas. I think I'm going to have to cash out my 401K just to fill my tank!

I was back home in Pensacola (well technically Gulf Breeze) for labor day weekend and saw the gas shortage. It was pretty bad; I got lucky and was able to fill my car up at the Murphy gas station in front of walmart in Gulf Breeze for $2.52 a gallon and I only had to wait 15 minutes. I'm at college in Boca Raton at FAU and there's no shortage here. I also picked up a friend in Tampa at USF and they were doing good there too. And finally, my girlfriend just got back to college in Mobile, AL. after a week off because of Katrina and they didn't have a shortage either.

We've had problems in Atlanta. There was a run on gas last Wednesday and it took till Monday for most stations to get their tanks refilled (although there are a few that haven't had deliveries). They suspended the gas tax for the month of Sept. so prices have dropped to aroun $2.99. I filled up my cars the day before Katrina hit because I figured that the prices would go up.
