New Mach 1 Rims (With Pics!)
Since a lot of you here don't follow Ponies on the Run every day, I thought I'd post pics of my new Magnum 500 rims for my Southeast peeps. The last picture is of the actual 1970 Magnum 500 rim on a Mach 1 (I'm going to have horse emblems made for the center cap):
The black bullitts were nice, but just didn't go with my Mach 1 theme:
Tell me what you think!

I do like the mag 500 look, being the s197 stangs have that 69 mustang look, and I like the mag500s on those. I wonder how raised white letter tires (if they ever made them for that size) would look wrapped around those...

I love that look on a vert. Especially a black & white vert. I think it's funny that Ford eventually striped convertibles (at least the 71-73's anyway) like the Mach 1 but never actually put out a Mach 1 convertible.

Thanks!
I'm going to have that last one blown up to an 11x14... I really didn't plan on the girls being "in" the car like that. That was a quick "run out of the car and take a picture" shot - and my daughter is ducking down inside the car, too!

I love the Magnum 500 style rims. There is always something about using classic style rims on a Mustang. So are those the actual same rims they used on the 2003-04 Mach 1's or another manufacturer's replica?
Just my opinion, but I would change the side stripes to something more classically correct in style, size and proportion. I hate to say it but they just look like something chintz bought at a local auto parts store or something added by a dealer who had a vendor begging to stripe a few cars on a lot.
BTW, I do like the bright taillamp trim with the black honeycomb deck panel insert.

(Flatter and larger openings)
As far as the stripe, I never liked the fatter stripe (that to me looked more dealer installed). But I wanted something to resemble the Mach 1 stripe. It does look better in person, and makes the car look longer. I have thought about making it a little wider, but not as wide as the real Mach 1 stripe.
See, Phil... the bezels look good!!

Taillight ring, Chrome thing,
But seriously, I really like the wheels. I noticed immediately that they were quite different from the 03-04 wheels. MUCH better looking in my opinion. Those are the first wheels that I have seen in over 3 years that I would consider putting on my car.
