I definitely agree. We need to make a STRONG showing out there for indy, as having one of the races here in the state would be amazing.
Read in the B'ham news yesterday that IRL will be coming back to test at Barber on March 20-22 2009. The drivers all gave it a thumbs up and loved the track last year. This time they're bringing the entire field. And the article said they were planning on running the entire field together to get more driver feedback.
Sounds to me that they're doing that to judge how it would be under normal race conditions. Hopefully it's a good sign that Barber's is on the short list for an annual race.
The article also said the IRL would be using this session to judge spectator interest here in Bama. So we need to give them a good showing and hopefully we'll have an IRL race here every year!!

If they want a good turnout, they shouldn't schedule it for Spring Break weekend. If I'm not in Disney World that weekend, I'll probably be at the Mustang show in Pensacola.
