GT goes to Gatlinburg
We went yesterday for my wife's birthday. The Great Smoky Mountains National Park still had some grit on the roadway so I need to do some washing underneath the car today. You can see the ice still clinging to the rocks in one of the photos.
We started at Anakeesta which has a comfortable chairlift to the top and lets you off in a 'village'. We ate outdoors at the Smokehouse there with unreal views all around. Highly recommend the Smokehouse Nachos w/ brisket. $20 but we split it and it was plenty. Admission was around $30 for us seniors. A bit more for regular admission. Parking in the city garage was $10 for a full day. Didn't see any scumbags loitering around. It's probably strongly prohibited with all the tourists.
Next was a short side trip to Pigeon Forge where we finally visited the Hollywood Wax Museum. Quite pricey at $30 each admission but we did enjoy it. One of those things you like to do once, especially after driving by it several dozen times in the past.
Some photos below with descriptions underneath.
Stream along the GSMNP road.
Elk at visitor center on NC side.
Early in the morning in the GSMNP
Ice still lingering in late March
Anakeesta Tower
Upper Village from top of tower
Smokehouse Nachos w/ brisket
Chairlift back down
Hollywood Wax Museum. Not busy at all.
Clint and I inside the museum.

Very nice, not sure how I missed this thread. Looks like a nice spring drive. And that side view of your car in the third photo really shows off your car. At least it caught my eye.
