Off the top of my head all I can think of it Autoworld in Metropolis, but they're a rip-off. There is/was (not sure if it's still there) another car related store over on the Sears end of the mall, but I'm not sure exactly where. The prices were pretty steep there too. They tried to sell me a nice Bullitt 1:18 for a decent amount, but I turned down the offer since I'm running out of space.

Welcome to the boards, btw. It's nice to see another Vancouverite here.

I honestly couldn't say. I have no idea. I just know it's in the wing of the mall where only old people seem to like.

No idea man, I'm looking into Universities myself, but I haven't looked much at BCIT since there're no programs there for my career aspirations. If you're in highschool then take advantage of your grade councillour and other school resources. They'll help you through all of that stuff. I didn't use the resources as much as I could have and I regret it. The VSB has some great stuff available to students and not enough people take them up on it.

Things change between Grade 9 and graduation. In grade 9 I wanted to be a graphic designer and I knew I wanted to go to CDIS for training. CDIS doesn't exist anymore and I've found I like the merging media (video games, tv, movies) far more. It's great that you know what you want to do, just make sure you know you really, really enjoy doing what that job entails.

Take as many shop classes as you can for your electives, that's the best advice I can give. Going by what my friends have told me, you'll learn a lot about basic maintenance of a car and how everything works, nothing to fancy, but very helpful. I frankly wish I took at least 1 year of shop instead of so many art classes as now I've got a car that needs pretty basic work done and not enough cash to pay for it. Oh well, hindsight is always 20/20.

Good luck with Highschool. Everybody in it hates it, but after a while of being out of it, you'll miss it. If even in the slightest. Look into BCIT, it's a great school, check the website, ask councillours etc. It never hurts to do your research.

Haha.. I sound so old in all that. Highschool seems like yesterday and yet I graduated a year ago. Ugh. Time seems to get faster the older one gets.. Anyway enough of my inane ramblings. Good luck with the models and BCIT.

heh, nope. I was out of zone too. I went to Temp for the Mini School. I live in Champlain Heights.

I'm surprised no mod has come in here and said: "Take it to PM" yet. heh

No problem.

Templeton, Point Grey, Ideal (Churchill), and Prince of Wales were the only ones back when I was going into grade 8. I applied at Temp and Ideal and didn't like Ideal much. Luck thing I guess, since i didn't get in there, and did at Temp.

Haha this is so far only, well, I'm not mad about it.. lol.

also try looking online for the models you want. alot of times you can find them alot cheaper online and get good rates on shipping. most hobby stores know they are the only one around and charge horrid prices. just my 2 cents for ya

Wilkinson's Automobilia on Ontario Street (corner of Broadway) is THE best store for die-casts, books, videos, etc. Check out: http://www.eautomobilia.com/storepage
