My new creation

Since this site has become my new addiction (), I had to find a way to start showing off my diecasts, but still keep them intact in their packaging. I looked all over the internet for some sort of display case and decided to make my own.

Now mind you that I just started collecting a couple of months ago and that this is also the cars that are NOT Hot Wheels (those will be displayed later on).

What do you think?

As you can see, I still have plenty left to put in.

I'll post pics of the Hot Wheels one soon.

Looks great Bill! Made from wood and painted?

You need a lot more cars!

I guess if you want to pull one out you have to lift them out at the top?

You are correct sir, made from wood and painted all for under $20.

I have more cars, they are just Hot Wheels and that display will be done later this week.

Bill, it looks like you are making custom sizes (widths) for each brand of diecast. Send me the blue prints, thanks!

Actually, that was the plan, but as I was making it I realized that I could make them all the same size and all the cars would fit.

I will get you some measurements & a how to tonight when I get home.

Very cool!! I was wondering how to display my Barretts & Johnny Lightnings
I found holders that are similar at Michaels (its a craft store). I think they were about 12 or 13 bucks but every once in a while they have a 20% off coupon.

Got the Hot Wheels one in the mail today! It didn't come with a back to it, so I used some of the leftover hardboard that I had from my custom display.

Put a few of the cars in for effect.

Nice, was it worth the money or would you build your own next time?

I could probably build my own again, but this one you can tell was built by someone who has all the proper tools.
