Found the 1/64 67 Fastback at TRU today. It is a bit larger than the Hotwheels and Matchbox 1/64's. Somewhere between 1/64 and 1/43 scale. Maybe 1/56 scale.

I got my 1967 Mustang diecast today. It's neither 1/24 nor 1/18; rather, it's somewhere between those two sizes. Of course, the proportions are questionable, as the diecast has the cartoonish appearance of DUB City's Big Time Muscle cars.

Unfortunately, for a JoyRide toy, this is rather disappointing, as it lacks the steering mechanism, working suspension and many bells and whistles found on 1/18 diecasts. And like the real car, this one comes equipped with a Nissan RB26DETT engine (FYI, the same motor used in the Skyline GT-R R34).

In typical F&F fashion, this Mustang is also loaded with subwoofers and two nitrous bottles.

The interior doesn't look bad, but seems incomplete, as there are no gauges on the instrument panel. At least there are no funky colors like the ones on the other F&F cars.

I am definitely not a fan of the rims.

Overall, it's an okay diecast, but JoyRide could've done much better. But then again, at $14.99, it's not really much to complain about.

very cool. Yeah i saw the 1/20 scale version at TRU too. But, funds are short right now. For some reason, this time, on either scale the "off" proportions don't bother me. I do agree the little details are rather disappointing. I will eventurally pick it up.

Thumbs up

Well, I traded in my 1/20 for the 1/18 version. It's basically the Ertl diecast slapped with 20" rims. Yeah, they're oversized, but they look better than the ones on the 1/20.

Here's a shocker - no Nissan engine! And this one has no nitrous bottles. Unfortunately, I have no idea how to open the trunk, so I don't know whether or not this Mustang has some ricer sound system.

Without a doubt, the interior looks better than the smaller-scale version. The diecast gets additional points for folding front seats and a well-detailed undercarriage. The downside is the lack of windshield wipers and rear view mirror.

This version sells for $24.99 at Toys 'R' Us and is a much better deal than the 1/20 diecast.

Interesting, yeah, as much as I hate to say it, this needs the Skyline engine. And those arent even the wheels from the movie car......But very nice model overall.

Well, the 1/18 cars are merely existing Ertl/JoyRide molds that were just recycled to promote the film. And because of the numerous production shortcuts, they end up being the most inaccurate among all the scale models. For example, the 1/18 Nissan 350Z not only has different wheels, it's left-hand-drive (remember, this movie takes place in Japan).
