2007 GT500 Comparison: GL vs. Shelby Collectibles 1/64
2007 GT500 Comparison: GL vs. Shelby Collectibles 1/64
These are two of the best castings to come out in 2007. The Shelby Collectibles 1/64 Ford Shelby GT500 (red) and the Greenlight 2007 Ford Shelby GT500 (white). Both cars are pretty identical in size and casting proportions. Both have RR tires and accurate GT500 rims. Here is my photo review. Enjoy...
Side by side. The SC has clear headlights. The GL has the Cobra logo in the grille. Both are accurate to the real thing though.

Rear: Both highly detailed. The SC car has the 'shelby' lettering spaced too far apart. The SC has clear plastic taillights. A nice touch.

Engines: Both cars has opening hoods. They each have separate plastic part engine pieces. The SC has the correct strut tower brace.

Interior detailing: The SC has colored red seat inserts. Also doors that open. The GL does not.

Verdict: And the winner is....Shelby Collectibles!!! :10:

the front fender cobra emblems are facing different directions.....also....white one does not have stripes on the back side of the ducktail...and it has the mirror delete option....but they are still cool!
Guess I shouldn't have taken mine out of the package. I've got this one ('67 GT-500) and Tower is selling it for $47.99. I saw some at the store last weekend. Guess I'm on a mission this weekend to find any remaining ones.

I thought the quality of the 1:18's was decent for the price. Actually, the 1:64's were great out of box too. I mean, they're not GMP or anthing, but they're also $30 as opposed to $120. Here's a few pics of one of mine in a lightbox I built yesterday.

I'd be sick and then I'd be dead if my wife found out.
