Z plan order question
I recently found out that my order of 3 weeks had been mistakenly entered as a X plan order instead of a Z plan (wife's grandpa retired from Ford) order like it should have been. My question is does this matter? Does Ford pull/consider A or Z plan orders before the rest of the orders or is it simply determined by the priority code? My dealer corrected this on my order today and I was just hoping that this might help my order.
Thanks,
Charlie

I don't have an answer for you but I do have a question or two for you.
My uncle retired from Ford last year, I was planning on ordering this weekend on X-PLAN, is this the wrong plan.
Also, when ordering by plan is a deposit required (how much), was is to keep dealer from selling your order to an msrp buyer.

I put down a $500 deposit and that basically stamped my name on that car. So, they can't sell the car out from under me and it also shows them that I'm serious about following through on this car. If I had ordered something wild that they would have no chance of selling then they want to have some money from you to cover what they will lose on that car.

The order type has no bearing on the turnaround time. This is only determined by the normal factors, priority, allocation and of course Bill Ford's Ouija board.

I think a lot of it has to do with individual dealerships. I ordered my car (a GT with IUP and ICAP) on Jan 12th and had it scheduled for a March 7th build week on Feb 10th. The dealer is where my mom works and the sales manager told me that they always "take care of family" and also "prioritize the presold vehicles". Considering that they put me at priority 10 and it only took one month to get it scheduled, I guess he wasn't joking! Needless to say, the dealers allocation is going to play a LOT in how quickly they can order a car for you, especially a GT with UP.
