you are from the KC area right? is that you I keep passing on I-70 the past few days on the east side of town around Independence ? I keep seeing a very nice looking vista or sonic blue stang with white stripes.

I have to agree with you 100%, but unfortunately my credit card company does too. Since I've gotten my Stang I've been averaging over $700.00 per month just in calculating my mods Oh well, you only live once, or so they say

When itemized like that, it does appear steep, especially on a preacher's salary!

My gas money comes out of my "entertainment" budget.

After reading some of what you guys pay, I can sleep easier at night (barely)...

$432 - car payment
$265 - insurance
$160 - gas (93 octane - $3.59/gal - Shell)
$25 - cleaning supplies

That's just the monthly stuff that comes with owning the stang, not adding in mods.

Took ownership: 4/28/07

....but is it worth it? Everytime I press that pedal!

I have 2. Both modded. So $1K a month is about what I spend on mods and fuel.

Yeah Buddy!

Since my car is paid for, if I don't include insurance and fuel, the mods I have done alone have cost me over $1,000/mth. Getting rims and tires for $1200 must be nice. My rims alone cost me that. I think I'd better stop soon

Personally , when I ordered my GT/CS it came the way I wanted it . The only mods I will do is a Candy Apple Red shifter ball from Grabberpony , a dash plaque from jacostang and maybe some floor mats with GT/CS embroidered from Summit . But it's paid for , so my mods add up to around 500 bucks . Thats for the year- total ! And I know this may make you sick , but I drive it year-round ! Don't worry, I keep it as clean as I can and waxed up too . By the way , these cars go great in the snow and ice ! But I wash that salt crap out of it each time I drive it . Thoroughly !!

4. Mods are a personal choice...you do not have to purchase if you want to cut costs
5. also all cars require maintenance

So while I see where your coming from. You also need to consider that most of those costs will be associated with any car you own.
This guy knows what hes talking about...

ONLY 1k? s--t!
Thats just my fuel and insurance. Hook me up with your savings plan

And yes. My Mustang is a way of living, and I like living the way I do, so yes, without a doubt.

Right before I bought my '06 two years ago, I had figured what my '98 cost me since I bought it. In a little less than 5 years, it was about $42,000 (cost of the car, gas, insurance, mods, etc.). I haven't been brave enough to total up what the two cars have cost me since then, but it's got to be at least $1,000 a month. The '98 has been paid for since '05, but there is always something to buy for them.

I wouldn't have it any other way

lol the way i see it ive been paying more than that and love my stang to death!!!

25,000 starting cost including liscencing and registration
175 bucks for gas (i drive about the same)
75 scheduled maintnance (oil changes)
800 in mods so far

now this is cheating but basically in the 7 months ive had it its been 26050 for a monthly payment of about 3720!!!!! I know the results are skewed, just trying to get the point across!!!!
