Another great drive. Check out the landscape shots and imagine driving this road. I saw, maybe, 6 other cars both ways. (click on them for a larger view)

This time it wasn't Skyline. Instead I drove up to Lick Observatory on the top of Mt. Hamilton. This is one great twisting, windy, switchback road that goes through some 30 miles of beautiful landscape. From the top you can see forever.....And it's right here on the fringe of the Bay Area.

I took a ton of photos with the intention of showing what a great drive this is.....(OK.......and how good my Legend Lime beauty looks on it. Sorry............but I love this car.)

Hey Bay Area guys........... this would be a great drive and photo opportunity.

Nope, it looks like it was made for sport bikes, but would be fun in the GT too

Great photos! Ford could almost use that first one as a brochure pic, well done.

Hey Allen, I used to live in San Jose off Santa Teresa Blvd. I have driven those roads many times and it is truly beautiful. Thanks for the memories!

Hi Allen,

I'll have to try it again. I think the last time I was up there was in the late '60s. The road seems a bit wider now. I went up one time when it was snowing. Beautiful!!

Thanks guys.......... it is a wonderful ride. and yes, you do see sport bikes quite often. Last time I drove this I did so in my truck. I was passed by by a large group of Vipers on a group drive.

Here's a couple more of the road.

And one I took this morning on a early morning drive. This is on Uvas Road, about 20 minutes from home. Too bad it was a bit overcast.

Good bass and trout fish'n here guys.

Thanks, but I'd think you'd have a lot of great roads and scenery in Canada. No?

Looks like fun, I've never done that drive. The scenery and road look similar to the drive up to the top of Mt Diable which is another fun bay area trip.

Hey Mike............ have you talked to Jack at the dealership about your order?

I forgot about the Mt. Diablo ride. That's now in my book. Thanks.

I'm not sure who Jack is, I've been dealing with Kafui and Scott neither of whom I've talked to in a week or so. No progress on my order yet as far as I know.

Jack Kitterman is the Fleet Manager. He does all the ordering. Tell him you're working with Kafui and Scott and that I told you to talk to him. He can tell you exactly what's coming and what to expect. I'll PM you with the contact details.

I left my house around 10:00 in the morning...... drove up to Mt. Hamilton....took a ton of photos.........took my time.........stopped for lunch and was home by 2:30.

The Uvas Road is one that I'll bet 98% of the population of Santa Clara Valley doesn't know exists. The body of water is Uvas Reservoir..........about a 20-30 minute drive from here....... in fact you can go all the way to the coast taking this road. After the earthquake in 1989 ( My Earthquake Photos ) it was taking people 3-4 hours to get over the hill from Santa Cruz. I'd go this way and it took maybe an hour and a half.
