My car was finally built yesterday! Any thoughts on a Saturday build date? Is that worse than a Monday or Friday? The same? Makes no difference? Thanks for your input!!

As long as you have been waiting I wouldn't care what day they built it on!

With todays ISO/TS quality standards I would think it would be rare that the quality of the vehicle could suffer at all. There are too many safety nets in place that hold quality standards very high.

The only thing that may result from a Saturday or overtime is less production.

My 2 cents

Good thoughts....actually, I'd say they were at least a nickel!

Some plants hire students/part timers to work on the weekend shifts to cover the regluar employees. Friends of mine who have worked as production supervisors in automotive plants have said that in most cases these students work harder than the regular employees. In either case i am sure you will be OK.

Quality Control is going to be the same either way. If what Steve says is true, you are good to go.

I wouldn't worry at all. I'm glad to hear your car was built though, just a little longer and you'll have it.

If he thinks he's getting a ride in the new car, he better think again!

Any message yet other than "produced"? I am still stuck on it. My ETA continues to be pushed back, and back, and back. Maybe they will surprise me with it coming in at the end of this week..... (I can dream can't I).

Tom, you don't have to worry. If anything is wrong with it when it's delivered, you already have enough parts on hand ro rebuild it!

My Mustang was built on Monday 04 April 05. Monday is supposed to be the great hangover day. My car runs fine and I have no problem with it. The old wives tale that Wednesday is the perfect day to build a car is, I think, is out the window. There is such a demand for the new mustang that I can't see the AutoAlliance putting non performance types on the line. The production line probably runs 24/7.

ERL still tells me I'm scheduled to be built week of April 25th. Little does she know it's already been built. I expect she'll tell me it's been shipped and skip right over the fact it's been produced.

I have never heard of them workin on Sunday at AAI. I know they are working some Saturdays. They only produce vehicles on the first two shifts, the 3rd is for maintenance.
