OMG.
brought it for a brand new tune at a diffrerent shop due to hunting idle and
a check engine light that would not go away.
Got the tune done and everything was fine. Slight hunting idle but nothing big. Drove it home (long trip)
Next night all is well too.
But tonight something happens.
Every time I push the accelerator down to speed up.... and let go of it..
guess what happens?
The car either accelerates MORE by itself when I let of the gas or clutch.... or it STAYS at that RPM and will NOT go down unless I push on the brake and push in the clutch.
Even when I push in the break sometimes it tries to rev up more for a bit.
I checked all my hoses and connections for leaks and could find none.
WHAT THE HELL is happening?
How am I supposed to even drive this **** thing back to the tuner/shop when it is doing this? They are 300 mi. away!

Try to reflash the last modified tune. If that does not work, you may have to go back to the stock airbox and factory tune until you get back to the shop.
Where are you getting your tunes from?

Custom dyno tune.
Only got it on Monday.
everything was fine until tonight.
Now I did have a slight hunting idle.
But I also had this before I brought it for this new tune.
I have hot rod cams and the hunting idle is a problem I have yet to be able to get rid of totally.
Stock tune would not work for me.
I have the cams, long tubes, high flow catted x, 4.10's... and a CAI.
It much more than just a CAI airbox for my tune being different than stock.

Could it possibly be a dirty throttle body? They can get gunked up pretty quick. Idle is throttle body driven on these cars so the throttle plates getting stuck could explain both the idle and lag issue.
Here's an old post discussing it a little

I just got done cleaning the TB
could not take it off... did not have the right size tool to get the nuts off lol.
So I did it without taking it off.
I did get a good amount of black crap on the rag.
Now I need for someone to tell me how to do the relearn process after unplugging the battery.
I dunno if you run it wihout the AC and radio on at first.
With the ac on then the radio on..
or if the radio makes any difference at all.
I just need the exact steps to make sure I do it right.

update:
cleaning the TB was no help.
Car does same
once you put it in neutral and if its not at 3k rpms or higher it will rev itself to a littlr over 3k and stay there.
If the car was over 3.5 k RPMs and you take it out of gear...
it will stay at whatever RPMs it is at UNITLL you put in back in gear
and put ur foot on the clutch and brake.
What the hell is going on here?

Any tune should not "hunt" at idle.
Who tuned your car?
I would highly suggest you put your stock airbox back on the car and load the factory tune until you can get to someone who actually knows how to tune.
Your cams and long tubes don't NEED a tune especially if your car isn't running correctly now.
Put the stock airbox back on and stock tune and see if your current problems with the throttle go away... I'm betting they will.

After a tune adjustment the hunting idle is still there.
The other problems are gone.
I have spoke to a TON of people with cams on these cars
that say they have a slight hunting idle.
There are so many I just cant tell if its something bad or not.
I mean even if it's not supposed to be there can it actually hurt the car?

Well if it's a "slight" hunting then it shouldn't be a problem, but if your car is idling rough then there is.
The cams will cause some inherent fluctuation of idle so if it's just the typical flux then I wouldn't worry about it, but if the car almost stalls and then starts then yeah you've still got a problem.

Mine did the same thing last year too, it was something with the tune, may have been set for auto trans instead of manual, since the idle speed in the tuner was wrong also. Call your tuner back and have them fix it.
