Yellowness #2 murderer's court day
I had court yesterday for the accident. It was supposed to be a Jury trial but they ended up plea-bargoning.
He plead guilty to:
Driving without privledges - mandatory 2 days jail time. 90 days possible, up to a couple thousand dollar fine.
Innatentive Driving - reduced from reckless driving to get him to plea.. it actually carries a bigger penalty, so the prosecutor said it was just as good.
Insurance charges were dropped because he ended up having insurance obviously.
He was also ordered to pay all restitution in case the insurance happens to miss something, or are retarded. This gives them a big motivator to push their insurance company to get with the program.
Sentancing is in January sometime.

I'm sorry to hear that it's been so long for you to get to this point, but I am certainly glad to see that there is justice.
I forwarded your original topic to Hau since he was the Chief Engineer, and he told me that he and everyone on the S197 Safety and Engineering Teams were fully aware of your accident and had seen the post.

It's good to hear he isn't getting away with it and will have to cover anything the insurance won't. I'm really glad you are doing okay too!
It would also be interesting to hear what H.T.T thought about the whole thing (engineering wise).
