Yellow "Film" on front wheel

Hello all,

I was curious if anyone else has had this happen or might know what it is. My driver side wheel has developed a yellow "film" of some sort that appears to be bubbling or peeling. I have tried the usual detailing methods to remove it, but no luck. Has anyone seen this before on their Mustangs? Danke!!!

I think that is the clear coat on the wheel.
May need to be refinished, but not positive on that.

I was thinking it could be the clear coat as well. If we stay positive and say it is the wheel weight glue, what would be a good way to get that off?

I use 3M Adhesive Remover which breaks down the adhesive properties of the glue. The warmer the area of the glue the better. Direct sunlight will provide enough warmth. Although I use a heat lamp. This will remove bumper stickers. With the propensity of companies to place a sticker on everything they sell, I find this very useful. And a 12 oz. spray can last me a long time(more than 3 years).
