x-plan question

Guys,
Simple question. Under the x-plan, if I am after a certain optioned car that my local dealer cannot find on any lot in his region, what happens? Does he tell me I can't get you the car under x-plan then? and I have to negotiate? If that is the case, how would I get the car I want under the x-plan.

Have the dealer order it.

If ordering the car isn't an option, with time and all, see if your dealer will do a locate and dealer trade for it. The X-Plan price is the same as on the lot, but they may charge you a small fee to go and bring it in, depending on how far away the car is.

you are also supose to let the dealership know that you have a x plan pin when you walk into the dealership. You will have to negotiate your trade if you have one otherwise everything is straght forward.

If you read his post he said his dealer has looked and can't find what he wants.

thanks guys,
I ask this question because someone I know mentioned to me that the only way to get the x-plan price is for a car on a lot and that one couldn't order a car with the plan. It appears he was wrong about this.

It is the dealers discretion weather they allow "A or X" plans. With that being said, you can buy one off the lot, dealer trade for the one you want or order the car and the pin is still usable.

I heard it was actually more likely for them to take the X-plan if you do order the car. Something about it costing them less if they don't use one of their lot allocation cars.
