Something that I have noticed on this Mustang board. Please correct me if I'm, wrong? If you just sit back and wait, it's not to long before you hear, "my dad's car", OR "my mom's car". I doubt that some of these people that post, actually have owned, or own a mustang, or a car for that matter. Anyone can post an avatar!

As for the person who posted that a V6 Mustang was a girls car, and the only people that had them were people that could'nt afford a GT. HELLO!
I can afford a GT, OR a Cobra, but right now I prefer the 6.
Some people on this site have families. That means a home, transportation, kids, groceries, insurance, taxes, and who knows what else along the way. Then they buy a new mustang, which takes more money, only to have people bash!

Everyone has their own opinion, but being ignorant about it is something entirely different. Maybe some of the bashers would like to take a photocopy of their car registration, attach it and post? Let's see what their driving?
u my frien by all means are being totally truthful. not ignorant. unfortuantely im one of the people who will not own a mustang. thats coming to an end in about 12 days. but i understand where u r coming from. im not a basher. some people have other expenses. and u can still have a 2005 mustang but without the v8 which nothing is wrong with that. some people r just immature. i do mention my parents car but because they r such perfect examples. but i just gotta say hats off to u because u work hard. i guarentee the people who say the crap like "ohh u dont have a GT cuz u cant afford one" well i bet they have a busted little honda beater and r jobless getting gas money from mom and dad. even tho im buyin a GT i still like the v6 and i feel anyone who wants to own one has good taste cuz they chose a 2005 mustang [/b][/quote]
Sorry No offence intended Greg!..... or to anyone else! Maybe I should have said it a little differently. What I meant to say was that it seems some people like to bash the V6, and might be driving nothing !

My timing was horrendous. I was referring to Fordracing200 and not you, but for some reason I didn't get the message off quick enough and just happened to land after your response. My bad.

Wow, what an enlightening thread! I guess people had a bad beginning to the New Year.

I posted this info on a different thread but I will pass it on here.

Back in 1996 when I bought a new 96 GT, Car and Driver tested it at 0-60 at 6.6 and 1/4 mile at 15.1. Now in 2005, Car and Driver tests a V-6 at 0-60 at 6.9 and 1/4 mile at 15.3@91.

So this year's V-6 is almost as fast as the GT was 8-9 years ago, and this year's GT is faster than many of the 1990s' Cobras.

We should all be happy.

Not sure why people feel the need to attack the V-6 Stang. Maybe its like picking on your younger brother.

I will not buy a V-6, but I see no point in attacking the car or people who like them.

I think 1_BULLITT needs to take a chill pill and maybe go to some therapy to be a little less confrontational and rude.

IMHO. . .

The only 2005 Mustang I have driven was a V6. It is a fine car for the money.

I want to get a GT vert. But that is just me.

The six cylinder is an excellent car; always has been, back to the straight 6's in 1964, when it was often referred to as a "secretary's car". (That was how you said "girl's car" back then.)

We have ladies who drive the GT's and the sixes. Guys as well who purchased both. Year after year after year.

If someone is rude about it, just let it be their issue and don't make it yours. We know better.

To use April as a classic example; she put down her hard-earned Americans, and got the car she chose. She is delighted with it (as well she should be). She has customized it with her snakes (family celebration). We have ALL seen horrific "customizations" done to mustangs, and her snakes don't even come close to being in that category. Most of us all celebrate with her, and that is the way it should be.

For those that don't, don't pick up their issues and make them yours. Just let their rants scroll by and continue on our happy, considerate, friendsly way!

The V6 is a good Mustang.

The V8 is a good Mustang.

Even my four-bangers were good Mustangs.

'nuff said.

Obladi, oblada!

You guys take meaningless things too serious. What difference does it make what I or ANYBODY says or thinks about what YOU like?

I just gave what some wanted and expected. My point has been proven. As for the chill pill, I would say some of you need it a lot more than I do.

I dunno Boomer, I hate how George always beats around the bush with those long-winded posts of his. I mean, take a look at "V-6 is a POS". Man...that is gonna take me at least like a second and a half to read. Why doesn't he just get to the point?
