Some more observations...

-The Mineral Grey looked great. I had my doubts about it being combined with the red leather interior, but once I saw it...it looked good.

-Black looked phenomenal and combined with the red interior the best.

-The yellow looked "fastest"... ;-)

-They brought in 3 more cars to get the line moving quicker...it helped.

-The staff at the event was very friendly.

-The trip odometer/computer actually looked cool blended in with the retro gauges.

-This was the first event with porta johns that featured "porta sinks" outside of 'em...nice touch.

-I talked to a woman in her early 70s who just drove...a guy in his early twenties and both had the same grin on their faces!

Heh I got stuck with the Ford sales one, all the mustangs were at the other even, so no soup for us

I spent a lot of time with the 500, FANTASTIC car, it trumps Accord, Camry, and Avalon easilly. More on that later.

You LUCKY @#%*&'s!!!

WOW....

I am probably wrong, but I thought the 05 came with ventalated brakes (can't remember where I saw that). Aren't they the ones that have holes drilled into the rotors? The pictures show a solid rotor.

If not, what are ventalated brakes and why are holes drilled in rotors?
I think you are thinking of cross drilled or slotted rotors. Those are for extreme braking. Ventilated rotors are common on most car's front disc brake. The holes in these are not on the face of the rotor, but on the rim of it.

these are cross drilled rotors

these are vented

The holes are there to help the brake cool down. Cross drilled rotors allow air to not only expell out the rim of the disc, but also vent thru the surface. This allows them to stay cooler and that lets them stop faster. [/b][/quote]
The cross-drilling also helps to reduce fade (which is caused by heated rotors) and warpage of the rotor itself. Our mid 90s Sables suffer from warpage because Ford was too cheap to put cross-drilled rotors on

My favorite vid is the one shot from w/i the car. I can actually hear the exhaust note as you accelerate. Sweet

cross drilling often causes cracks in the rotors. Look at one that has been driven hard (track events, etc). There are often spider cracks on each hole.
