i'm sorry you feel slighted. there just aren't enough around for ordering car. Even if you order a car, that order isn't binding. you could still walk away from the deal. I'm not going to cut someone out who is buying a car right now, because someone wanted a special order. Especially when they could walk away at any time. best i can say is try back when your car comes in.

i guess if you want to call it a catch, then it is what it is. i just put a priority on people buying a ford, lincoln, merc in a few week instead of a few months.

Well I'm just bummed out because the "rules" were changed after the fact expecially when a couple people go their pins even though they ordered their car recently (Oct. 25th) or are going to order "in a couple weeks". Oh well hopefully someone can help me out.

This is a ctach 22, I won't order because I can't get a good deal, and I can't get a good deal because I haven't ordered.

yeah the first two guys got'em. mainly because people were very leary of their info. then i got 150 emails from people who haven't even ordered yet. Things just had to be adjusted then. With the Mustang plant working 6days 10hours, there should be some on dealer lots soon. It might come down to does someone want spoiler delete or save and extra 4 grand, premium sound or xplan. this world is full of trade offs.

How much does one save with the X-plan? On say a fully loaded (red leather, 1-up, etc) GT?

I'm asking because there is one coming in this week that I can purchase.

everyone should give xplanman a break. He is offerign a service to pople that eh dosn't have to do, regardless of "rules". people should be happy there are others willing to help in any way.

I agree. Xplanman is doing a favor to people here that want to buy a Mustang. If you cannot follow the guidelines or his rules then it makes it harder for other people looking for PINS that want a Stang now. Be patient until you are ready to buy. I am sure they will be other nice people who will offer the same X-Plans when they have them to share.

Being rude does NOT help other members who would like to obtain one in the future.

I assume you both are referring to me. And it easy to say when you already got the pin. The rules were changed in "mid-game" so to speak. He is doing a great service, it's just unfortunate that he went from "first come first served" to buying off the lot. I don't see what the problem was with the first method, of course he'd get a large number of replies it's a Mustang forum. I hold no ill-will towards xplanman, he is definately cool for doing this, I just don't see the need to change the method in which he gave the pins away. I am ready to buy right now as well, I just want it my way, not the dealers way. Anyway to clear things up I appreciate xplanman's generosity, but at the same time I'm bummed out because I was excluded mid way.

Just wanted to clear things up.

Its pretty easy to understand his point. You can order a car, but untill you are AT THE DEALER BUYING IT, you do not need a pin#.

oh, and EVERYONE here is pretty sketchy

I'm not sure what the big deal with x-plan is. If a dealer is willing to accept x-plan, chances are the are willing to sell at $500 over invoice (which is actually more profitable for them). Buy at $500 over and use the AQHA rebate and you're the same, actually a little better. If a dealer won't do $500 over on an order, chances are they won't do x-plan.

This is a very generous offer, but I don't see how it can work? GTs are selling off my local lots the same day they arrive. I'm ready to buy, maybe even in the next couple days as a couple of my local dealers have cars coming in on monday or tuesday that match what I am looking for. But if I don't have an xplan pin in hand when I walk on the lot I'll never get a chance to use it

Can anyone with a xplan pin available help me out?

-Mike

You all that are looking for pins might try the forums at BlueOval.com. There are frequently Ford employees who hook up folks on the forums there.
Just a thought.

Merry Christmas!

In defense of the guys that got them, could it be possible that they ordered and haven't got their unit yet? You may want to check first so they don't get hung up when the car arrives.
