Woohoo!
I think RCL is waiving the 500 sec deposit on their leases now. I leased my 06 V6, but that was for a one month special with 64% residual and an amazing .5% lease factor. The 7.9 on the current program is nuts. The bank is the only winner in that lease. I traded out of it in a year even, and put no money down. Figured I would rent it and get the GT again when the license cleared up(was waiting on some options too). Typically you are raped if you try to turn in a 24mo lease in one year.
yes - when the program is is really good - it can be a great deal. i leased an eddie bauer f150 several years ago, 0 due at signing, 24mos for $170/mo. iirc, it was a near 80% residual
plus - the security deposit is something you should be able to get back at the end (knock on wood)
unfortunately for the consumer - the mustang isnt a car that ford has trouble moving or is used to compete in the numbers game (best selling car vs honda/toyota or truck vs chevy etc...) thats why you can get a $20k accord for 200/mo with little to no money down

Thats completely insane. Never put big bucks down on a lease. average gt at 4.9 is 500-550/month. 6500 down(7 including deposit) will reduce it by 150 bucks. So 350-400/month to own, if that. 3 years later and you'll only owe about 10k on it, a lease buyout is probably 15k+. 12 bucks more a week. If you have a credit union you can probably get 72 months for 6 percent and take the 1000 rebate and drop it even more. I would avoid a lease like the plague.
I did quick math/ 27000 + 5% tax +400 processing fees 7k down about $410 a month.
6.0 for 72(would have to be from a CU) $350's. If you just have the 18"s/IUP/3:55's you can get it cheaper then 27k.
$100/mo sounds like a lot on paper, but break it down per day and think of how much money you waste on other stuff. I know my lunches/smokes/snacks/coffee is about $500/month. I would stretch it a bit and stay with 60 months over 72 though. If you can get $6k together, I'm sure you can stretch the 100/month.

That's about right. That's basically what I got mine for, a little lower interest rate, a bigger down (10k) for 60 mo cost me $317.00 a month.
You'd be in a much better situation buying rather than leasing on this car for sure. Luckily you have some time to work it out too

If you have that much loot to put down, I have no idea why you are worried about a 300 or 400 payment.
What is so special about a 300 payment? you just threw an additional $2000 into the deal? Just don't lease it, and only take an interest rate that corresponds with your credit. Shoot for about $500-$750 over invoice for price and all will be good in the world. Typically you can get a better deal on a special order car because they don't have to have it sitting on floorplan. Personally I would stretch for a 60 @ 4.9, well over $1000 less in the total payments over 72mo.
Just don't lease it, you'll hate yourself for it.
1. Pay 500-750 over invoice, minimum dealer fees and taxes and tags. Skip the other stuff Ford will offer you an extended warranty at a discount before yours ends if you want it.
2. Put down as much as you can/want at a proper intrest rate for your credit score
3. Enjoy summer picking on import owners.

and everyday expenses.
As stated earlier, leases require a minimum of 100/300 liability. The liability portion usually isn't that big of a cost of your monthly premium.
The short answer is yes, but with the cost of things the way they are... it's wise to be up that far anyway. 15/30 limits won't cover jack these days.

Checked the insurance. They said adding an 07 mustang GT would be $513/6 months.
Kevin, I remember you said to go for $500-750 over invoice. If i got them to sell it for that much would i still get a $1645 rebate by financing it? And how much do you think they would charge extra for dealer fees, taxes and tags? Ive never bought a car from a dealer before so i dont know much about what im doing.

you should get the rebates no matter the price on the car (well assuming they also arent tied to a finance rate)
as for dealer fees - just call and ask - they should be able to give you a number fairly quickly.
and if theres other dealers in the area - you might want to shop them to see who wants your business more (i.e. - lower dealer fees and price of car)

If its an auto you get the $645 rebate yes. If you use Ford credit financing you surrender the $1000 rebate if you take the 4.9/60 or 6.9/72 promo rates. Hence, I said you can do a CU loan for 72 at probably around 6% and still take the additional $1000 rebate. Either rebate you take is not part of the discounted price and they are incentives Ford gives you. you could actually finance the entire thing and get a check for $1000, but that would be silly. So negotiate the selling price(price over invoice-say $500 as an exampler) and the rebates are independent of that price. The dealer does not provide the rebates.
My question is this... Why are you in a hurry to get a new car?
I waited and watched for the right price and finally got it. I kept tabs on the local dealers... And even ones in Birmingham (90 miles away) and Atlanta (even further) thru ford.com and used the search dealer inventory function weekly. You only need to know the zip codes and you will find lots of dealers. And pay attention to the forums. That's what I did. And low and behold last August, just before Labor Day the Dealers on TMS let it be known that that Ford was coming out with the 0% finance sale just days before you saw it anywhere else. With in mind I knew a local dealer had a car that was close to what I wanted and I got it for a great price! The car MSRP was $28,165, they came down $700 on the price and gave $3500 for my old Mustang (about $1500 more than Blue book) and my payments are $345 a month. You should be able to top that with the money you have on hand. Be patient, be aware of what is in stock and be ready move when the time is right. I didn't get everything I wanted... Spoiler delete and the chrome bullets were nowhere in sight, but I love my car and best of all... I can mod it as I want!
