I don't know if he realizes is the only reason I said it. For a 16 year old with it for his first car, hes probably looking at 500+ a month.

Keep your grades up, study English, learn about punctuation, spelling, and sentence structure.

Otherwise, you're a lucky kid. Good luck.

it'll still be crazy expensive. i'm a freshamn in college and going to be getting an 05 next spring. insurance really is crazy. and not sure where you are in CA, but arent rates higher in some places in CA?

anywho, i agree with the person who said get some summer jobs. as long as you can budget yourself, all will work out, as i am now learning. just make darn sure you can afford it. itd be horrible to ruin your credit right out of high school. and dont forget about college payments too as well as the extra money you'll be needing to pay for things to do at college :cough: beer :cough:

not trying to rain on your parade, but i'm just adivsing you of the things i'm learning right now. you are lucky though have a great time!

Takes everyones advice,,,,,,,,,,,get a summer job,,,,,save up the cash,,,,,,you never know what might come up in the future.,,,,,,,,,Murphy's Law tends to hit us all at the high points (and low) in our life

Congrats! Having your own car rocks. Ah, the freedom.

As far as the 05-08, make sure you check the insurance. Also, be sure to have a clean record. Any sort of infraction will mean no 08 GT.

Congrats man! don't nag on him cuz of the insurance, it's not like he hasn't heard that before. And plus by the time he gets it he will be 18 and he should have some money saved up.

and dont forget to shop around for insurance and get the best available w/i your budget. dont cut corners by getting crappy insurance. low payments are nice, but when the poo hits the fan they will drop you and try to get out of covering your accident. it happened to my cousin when he was in a motorcycle accident. his insurance tried to dent his claim and medical bills. and then wouldnt try to sue the other insurance of the guy whose fault it was. so he had to get an attorney(sp) and sue both companies. has alot of injuries and med bills. it took like 2 years to get everything settled. he lost his job, house everything till he got it settled

Congrats and good luck!

Keep the grades up so you can get a good student discount and learn to be real careful and responsible with the first car - both so the insurance won't be effected by any bad behavior and also so you will be ready to handle that 300 hp responsibly.

You're my neighbor - don't total me some night after a football game!

What does this have to do with '05 mustang?

But anyway, make sure you earn the money for the insurance.

It's not fun not being able to drive when you don't have insurance. Been there...done that.

Sorry Grantsdale, I just didn't want a kids dream or hope to be ruined. No hard feelings. It is just hard to understand how so many people have to pay such high insurance prices. I had a 89 lx 5.0 when I was 17 and the insurance was like 89.00 bucks a month (full coverage). I now have a cobra, a g.t. convertible and an f-150, and I only pay around 184.00(full coverage on all) a month (knock on wood) and my record is less than perfect. I guess I just want everyone to live in that perfect world where insurance would reasonable . Good luck to all those getting an 05 or Mustang there after.

What state do you live in? I want to move there! I have a perfect driving record and there is no way I could get it that cheap.
