Why won't they show me the dora? I've been asking to see it for 2 weeks. Keep putting me off. I ordered on 1/7/05 I'm starting to go crazy, I don't know what to do. I wish they would co operate. they gave me a copy of the dealer order submitted. :bang: I'm trying to be calm about it, but it's hard. Well I better get off here. I just had to vent a little. Good luck to everone waiting............

Tell them that if you don't have it by the end of the day you're going to a different dealer. Be willing to follow through and do it. Trust me, find a better dealer now so that you don't spend the next 5 months playing games.

Yeah if you're paying x-plan or MSRP, go somewhere else. Not worth it. There are 3 types of people in my life that I don't trust: Lawyers, Liberals, and Car Salesmen. If a dealer won't be up front with me, then screw em. They don't want my business that bad.

Well, here's my .02.
All I got was the same thing you got, the copy of the order submitted. To be honest a DORA doesn't do anything or provide any more information than that does, so it's really a moot point.
Have they told you when they expect your car to be pulled for production? Now that's useful information that they should be able to provide you.

I had that happen to me. I kept asking for a DORA, but was told it isn't ready yet. After two months, I demanded a DORA, and the sales manager came clean. He said they didn't have any allocations, and the order is just sitting in the bank. That is why they do not have a DORA for me.
So I would ask for a DORA or ask for your deposit check returned. It is there choice. Also ask them how many allocation they have? And Which allocation is yours?

Your joking. Right? The DORA provides several VERY important bits of information:
1) Dealer Order RECEIPT Acknoldgement - It clearly shows you that they PLACED the order AND Ford RECEIVED it. That's not imporatant to you???
2) It has the dealer number, body type, and order number on it. - You need that information to use the <sensored> number to check on your car status. You might be able to get that information elsewhere (ok, the body type is REAL simple to figure out!), but the DORA has it all in one location.
3) It also has all the options listed on it. - This one came in REAL handy for me! I reviewed the DORA and found that they forgot one of the options I ordered (active antitheft). After verfying it, I called up the sales manager and he made a call and had it added to my order BEFORE the car was serialized. I would have missed the security system if it was missing.
4) It has all the price information on it. Again, you can get this information elsewhere, but it is VERY nice to have the price info on YOUR car right there at your finger tips.
So the DORA might not be important to you, but I, for one, am very glad I got my DORA!

No, I'm not joking one bit.
All of that same information is on the order reciept. It look's different, but it's the same exact stuff.
The difference with me was there were no surprises, they explained their allocation, how it worked and told me when they expect my order to be pulled when I asked them, and it happened!
So I saw no need whatsoever to ask for a piece of paper that had the same info on it as the piece of paper that I already had

The whole point of the DORA is to make sure the info is exactly the same. As rrroamer showed human error can occur. The order confirmation was reviewed by you and a dealer employee but the most likely at a later time someone re-entered that information to actually place the order. You just want to make sure nothing got mistyped or missed, thats all.
