The snow started falling really fast during the morning commute. We got about 6 inches of accumulation in less than two hours in the middle of the morning rush hour. That video was funny; notice it was all these 4X4 SUVs sliding into each other...

It was worth it to buy a cheap beat up kia sportage 4X4 since I was transferred to Maine. It is like the planet hoth here! I can't wait for the Empire to find me so I have to leave.

I wasn't able to see the video until today. (link was not working)

I'd venture that along with the area described as being a steep hill, I doubt any pre-treatment of that area by salt trucks was performed. Combine that with fast falling WET snow on a relatively warm road surface, (led to the snow melting and then refreezing as a sheet of ice), and you have a recipe for disaster.

That said, the first thing that I noticed was that every driver that collided with another was panicking, had their brakes locked, and instinctively refused to let off the brakes.

Good. You've pinpointed the problem. The next step is to stop bragging about your poor driving skills and then go learn how to handle adverse weather conditions.

who the heck is this guy?

anyway...looks like fun, ahah. i wish i could see snow every once in a while. and drift in it

but i guess it's a good benefit to have good weather...leaving your car in storage sounds like it sucks.

P.S. california is better than florida

Someone who has seen enough dangerous drivers out on the road on my daily commute that at 1:30am when I am tired and browsing an internet forum and I see someone who claims they can't drive in the rain without fishtailing everywhere, I find it ridiculous and can't help but comment. Simple as that. Anyways...

I drive the Mustang in the rain/snow/salt, whatever, it's my daily driver. With some snow tires and a light foot on the gas pedal, especially in the corners, I have had no problems so far.

Um yea hi- Go away. Earn your stripes, then you can razz me. Had you been here a while, you would know that my "fishtailing in the rain" is an inside joke.

Ew snow- I have learned since I have been down here snow is not for me. I am missing the cold weather gene. I like running around in shorts and tank tops all year!

Been there done that. Florida ROCKS!!!!!!!!

Why? Because I am in a happy mood for the first time in like 8 years. And I like the way people (except the tourists) drive down here.

You are an obstinate one grasshopper.

You have not yet learned that if you tell them they will come.

Please repeat after me.

1. Florida is bad, California good.
2. Florida has mosquitos the size of barn owls, California is bug free.
3. Florida is flat and boring, California has beautiful mountains and cliffs overlooking the ocean.
4. Floridians only want to sell tourists swampland, Califorians want to sell them gold mines. Gold is always better than swamps.
5 Florida is the lightning capital of the US. California very rarely has lightning storms.
6. Florida has fruits, California has both fruits and nuts. 2 is always better than one.
7. Most Floridians are still living in the 19th Century, California is the trend setter and leader of the 21st Century.
8. Gators prefer plump pastey skinned tourists over wrinkled sunburned locals.
9. Our state bird is the mosquito and our state water fowl is the plastic pink flamingo

Should you decide to take up residence in Florida please note that the residency requirements have changed.
1. You must be voter challenged on both paper and electronic ballots. Ubgraded from only paper earlier.
2. We don't want no trailer trash, so you must get a double-wide at the minimum.
3. Front yards must be adorned with one of the following. A) A 4x4 pickup with a 12" lift, 39" Ground Hawgs, a rebel flag rear window screen and "Back Off" mud flaps. or B) two partially disassembled 10 year old cars on blocks.

So remind everybody of the hurricane hell hole you live in and that it is a wet heat in the summer.

Yeah she's a big gal al'right. HUGE. A lot bigger than our old rescue. It's made by RESCUE 1.

Our old rescue is a working antique, 1980 Saulisbury Heavy Duty Rescue.
