Called them this morning, and they were just unloading it from the carrier. They only got the one GT, but they hopefully expect to get some V-6's next week. The salesman I spoke with claied that Ford told them they should not expect any more GT's until January...! They do have tons of brochures, and I got quite a few questions answered. Sitting in it was really exceptionally nice! They wouldn't crank it up because it was in the showroom, but they were nice enough to let me see the color-changing display and listen to the Shaker 1000. There's no doubt that I MUST have one now, but I'm really picky about the options I want and am therefore going to wait a little while. (Maybe. ) Sticker price said $27,000, if memory serves.

But anyway, the proof is in the pudding, and I did have my camera with me. Click on the link to check 'em out. I'm not going to embed because they're fairly large (800 x 600). Enjoy!

Mustangs on my homepage
(By the way, the first few are of my old '66 and 2000 GT side by side, but pics of the 2005 GT start at #1543.)

Thanks for the potos & info.

I'm sure I'll get flack for this, but I like your 2000 GT a lot more than your old 66. The 66 looks like a wimpy antique compared to the 2000. I can't imagine what the 66 would look like parked next to a 2005 GT.

Thanks for the great pics! I like the Windveil much better than I thought I would.

Did the dealer shoot you a price on it? Is he holding out for MSRP or higher or is he dealing? Just curious since I'm not going to drive that far for one but was wondering how he's dealing?

Thanks again for the great pics.

Doesn't it, though? Still, it's got huge sentimental value. I always did hope and pray that one day I could have a sort of remade, modern, muscled version of that '66, and lo and behold, Ford has answered my wildest dreams.

No, I didn't ask for a price. I let the guy know upfront that I was looking for a Satin Silver GT with the Bullitt wheels, and he was kind enough to not pressure me any further. I strongly suspect that they're not gonna back far off of that sticker price, though, since this is the only one which may be in all of North Carolina at this moment. Even more so, there were 4 other people (with accompanying dealers) checking out the car! I sure hope someone buys it - I know they will be VERY happy with it! I really like seeing people get new cars.

Seems strange to call that color a fad. Its very close to a color I have seen on many 60's vettes and mustangs. Perhaps Im wrong though.

I love the color, it mimicks the Brittany Blue for a '67-68 Mustang. I have a '67 Shelby with a parchment interior so I ordered an '05 the exact same way. Now I'm really glad I did, because it really looks great. I'll post pic of the two together as soon as the '05 shows up!

Not only that, you even left a spot to park your new 05 ride. Right smack between them.

great pics!

Axelay,
How did the shaker 1000 sound? Mids, highs, and bass? Worth it over the 500? Most importantly, did you pick up on any annoying rattles when the bass hits? TIA

Man, I'll say one thing - the Shaker can HIT. When the battery was connected so I could play with some of the electronics, the stereo was the first thing I messed with after seeing the instrument panel colors. The radio station was set to some random AM channel which was picking up nothing, and the second I hit the button to switch to FM, it tuned right in to a radio station and I felt it way down in my gut. The salesman jumped and quickly motioned for me to turn it down a bit. Since I have yet to listen to the 500, I can't compare the two. But I do know that the 1000 sounds almost infinitely better than my MACH 460. I'm probably going to go with the 500 since I really don't need the woofer so much, but those who are getting the 1000 will be charmed down, no doubt. It's an outright cannon.

Very nice high res pics...some nice angles not yet seen :-)

On a personal note: i think your 66 is beautiful,i just always loved the rear of the early stangs before they recessed the rear lights. How does she run,and are ya gonna fix her up to be custom or back to stock look? I notice your 66 already has the red interior color accent package...hehe

Well, right now, I'm sorry to say it, but it doesn't run very well at all. I need badly to do a complete restoration, but alas, money doesnt grow on trees. If I did have the opportunity, though, I'm sure I'd got for stock.

Believe me, the red has been foremost on my mind since I first saw the IUP. I wasn't originally intending to get leather since I just don't care for it so much... but now I think I may have to solely for the red accents.
