Windshield: Anybody know what this piece is for??

Hey gang, does anyone know what this plastic clip does that sits at the bottom of the windshield under the cowl? There is one on each side and while I was replacing the cowl retainer clips I found one of these loose and won't clip back in. Thinking of using a little silicone to hold if back in place. Any suggestions? Thanks

Man, I'm good. I'm sorry, I'm gonna brag. I didn't know what this thing was. But I do now! I love learnin' new things! Thanks!

I had a suspicion right off, but I didn't know what it was called... so I went to Tasca, and found this:
https://www.tascaparts.com/v-2009-fo...***-windshield

Third part down:
https://www.tascaparts.com/oem-parts...-7r3z63030a12a

Doin' a little work on this, these things hold up and space off the windshield for a proper fit on the bottom edge. They are to be *replaced every time* a new windshield is put in, because they are damaged when the old windshield is cut out. You WILL have leaks if you do not replace them with new if your old windshield is removed. Or so The Interwebnets is sayin', anyways. So... um, with that, I do believe you've now been edumacatinated and learneded 'bout them thar things, go forth and do good work upon them as needed.

And that goes for all y'all'n's what read this. Got it? Good.

Also, the picture in your original post is apparently upside down, according to Tasca. What? Other way around? Get out, man, Tasca wouldn't post a part picture upside down, c'mon!

Ok, ok... fine. The picture at Tasca's website is upside down, but I still say that's sus...

Finally, if it's been this way, then it's probably fine. You can use silicone, absolutely, just to be sure. But you can't remove them without taking out the glass or damaging them, and good luck putting new ones in, because they're under the glass a decent bit.

Really, you're gonna have to replace the entire windshield, it's the only way to be sure...

Ow. Again? Fine, I'm leavin, I'm leavin'...

But still, bricks and all, hope that helps!
