Since I've never owned a car that has the window roll down and roll back up feature when the door is opened and closed, I was wondering how this will impact the window tint on a car that is newly tinted. I know you're supposed to wait a couple days before rolling the windows down in order to prevent damaging the tint. Is there a way to temporarily manually disable this feature?

Geez, looks like you my just have to let your Mustang sit for a few days
unused, to let the tint cure.

I don't think I could stay sane going through that! :bang:

my bussy had to do that with his BMW. he just parked it for a few days. You could leave the hood latch open...disconnect the battery. Get in the car, close the door (no window roll down). Have a buddy reconnect the battery..start the car...drive away.

Now, you could also....if your 5'7" like me, crawl through the trunk..and through the back seat...bypassing the doors all together.

Easier. I have an M3 that does that down-an-inch, up-an-inch thing; and tinted the windows. Just tape over the censor that tells the car that the door is open, and no down, no up. Easy.

youd have to do something like that or pull a fuse before you tint or the windows will be down with the door open regardless. I guess you could tape it up but that is only if the doors dont close well with the glass up, T-birds get out of sync sometimes(its easy to reset) and I wouldnt want to close the door with that up, it hits the rubber trim above the window opening.

Wow.... that is a VERY good question. Good Job, Nichole.

How much does it cost for a good window tinting job? I definately want to have mine done, but I've never done it before.

You could tint one window at a time. First tint the passanger's side and leave the door shut for a few days. Then tint the driver's side and use the passenger door for a few days.

Approximately $150 for a good tint, depending upon the place and percentage of tint.

That's cheaper than I thought. And that includes all 4 windows and the back windshield?

I haven't gotten the exact quote for the 05 Mustang but generally it is grouped into 2 door, 4 door, etc. 2 door cars are generally around $150.

I am not tinting the windows this time around anyway. Im kinda bored with them, and dont think they do anything for the looks of the new car. I like being able to see the red interior and IUP through the glass I think tinted windows would look cheapo on this car.

I wasn't aware the windows automatically rolled down

I had a friend roll down my window half way on the second day after I got the tinting, there was no damage.
