Anyone else have wind noise from the windshield? seems to start around 75mph or so, and louder the faster you go. Top center area is where I think Im hearing it from.

My Explorer used to do this when the molding around the window lifted from the windshield. I'd stop and it would fall back into place. I used some clear silicone to glue it down.

I've got some kind of wind noise coming from somewhere. I haven't taken much time to track it down, but there's a slight whistle coming from somewhere.

Do those short antennas have the spirally thing. Thats what reduces the wind noise.

If you have a shorty antenna try spiral wrapping it with black electrical tape. It worked for me !

it depends on what you define 'wind noise' by. All cars have to push through the wind and will make some noise, I dont care if its a Lexus. If it sounds like there's a leak of air through mouldings, thats another matter. Sometimes of course wind or wake turbulence from other vehicles will make louder then usual noises too. You have to make sure you listen on a calm night on a road with no traffic ahead to see what noises the car is making. You can tell if the turbulence is 'outside' the sealed area of the car if you listen carefully. Antennas and body mods like spoilers and scoops will make the most noise. 75mph is darn fast to not hear any wind, I would think any car sub $70k would make wind noise, at least that you could hear. Even with the Bose active noise cancellation system, the RL still has audiable wind noise at higher speeds. Roll the window down and shove your head out if you need a reminder of how much you aren't hearing.(I ride motorcycles, all cars are like coffins to me).

You also go through a period of getting 'used' to a new car too. This is why so many 'problems' develop after a couple thousand miles that 'werent there'. You trade in the old jalopy, the new car sounds like a vault-over time you get used to the new standard and all of a sudden EVERYTHING is making weird noises. If you go back to the 'old' car for a week, it sounds like a russian tank.

dcranford-
might not be windows...take a loot at the trunkfloor of mine in this thread:
http://forums.bradbarnett.net/index.php?showtopic=42484

if the floor aint sealed you could have wind blowing up into the quarter panel(along with some nice dirty water...) I know before I got my 65 galaxie sealed back up it was quite the windnoise machine...after quiet as a churchmouse. a little air gap in the floor is about as loud as one near a window... my drivers side was showing gaps/holes probably 1/5 of the seam behind drivers wheel...passenger side they did a decent job, but drivers was definitely not proper.

Well if you can get a calm quiet spot to drive it and isolate the area that sounds like a leak, then cover the seal with masking tape and see if goes away, then you know the seal not right.
