Tint, brakes, wheels, Bassani Xhaust, short shifter and of course a Vortech, all before the first scheduled oil change.
Absolutely!!! I have considered waiting on the car until I have bought all the mods I want and then trailering it from the dealer to the shop.

Does the 05' have the dot matrix print border on the quarter and rear windows like the 04's?

If so I may reconsider because I HATE the seam you end up with when tinting windows that have that stoopid dot matrix border.
Yep, it was on all 3 of the 05 Mustangs I saw.

....I think 300+ HP will be enough for me now. Once I master it, and buy my house perhaps

2. CAI
3. Headers/Cat Back
4. Underdrive pulleys
5. Mod Chip

Goal is to eventually have 300 RWHP

The mustang is going to have real close to 300 hp at the rear wheel. I may get new mufflers, depending on the sound once I get it. I'd like to get the intake cover also, if Ford makes it. That may be it, other than some sort of high intake air filter.

Wheels/Tires, exhaust and maybe intake down the line. Other than that, probably keep it stock.

I'm gonna wait for dyno results of stock and modified 05's before I decide what I'm doing with mine.

I wonder what an aftermarket exhaust (ie. Borla) will gain as far as rwhp?? (just muffler or cat-back) The piping is already mandrel bent so any gains will be from the muffler (might not need to replace the piping)

I'm sure it will be smaller than current stangs. Any guesses?

I dunno, if Ford is putting a good diameter pipe and mandrel bent, I would guess most restriction would be cat forward and in the factory mufflers. If you keep factory piping and only replace mufflers I wouldn't expect much of a gain at all..

Although going on the assumption that the factory cats and exhaust manifolds are going to be chokers I bet you could see a 10-20 HP gain by replacing those with a good set of quality headers (port them first!) and some hiflow cats plus a catback.

Can't you get the dots off with a razor blade?

Well I've just got done doing some research on how tinters deal with the "dot-matrix" problem. And it seems like the more reputable shops know how to deal with it. The solutions range from scraping off the matrix, to the most popular method of using glue. It's defineately something you're going to want to ask about, and see examples of.

If you're thinking about having the dealer do it, take a look at their tint jobs. I did and I'll have to pass on them. All of their cars had the unsightly white stripe where the film wouldn't stick on the matrix.

For performance mods - Pulleys , k&N, converter free x-pipe + chip = +14-18 hp
Question- does anyone have experience with computer reprogramers. What is better. reprograming the computer or just get the chip?????

I don't think there will be a "chip" anymore. I read in another thread that the thing will have to be reflashed, but supposedly Ford has left a few ponies in there for the tuners to discover.

windhamjk,

You won't need subs on this car. It's already got a stiff chassis, and if you look underneath, you can see it has frame rails. Lastly, where are you going to get subs for this car? I don't think I'd even entertain the idea, unless Maximum Motorsports was making them. Those guys seem to be the most pragmatic group of developers.

I wasn't aware of the frame rails. As far as where would I get sub frames - I would do what I did with my Z28 and research until I found a good solid product from a reputable business.

What???

What is driving those blowers on that stang, Script?

My first mod will be a search engine, so people who get in for the first time don't keep asking the same questions about the car over and over again.
