Will I get my Mustang
#1
(others feel free to post their situation here for bet's on them also)
I am currently taking (non-existant, theorectical) bets on whether I will get my Mustang. I wanted one since I saw the concept but it wasn't until the first week of March my wife (who is a very successful accountant so I listen to her) told me we could get one.
So, after looking and finding out that there were no Sonic Blue GTs in Texas my father-in-law found out that his "personal" dealer (he and family members bought 12 Fords from him last year alone) had one "on order". I was told that I had until Tuesday to get my options to him before the order was "locked".
I *THINK* this was Tuesday March 15th.
This dealer is one of the largest dealers of Mustangs in West Texas. This was a Mustang he ordered in the color I wanted before I ever talked to him. After I talked with him he marked it as sold.
I talked to him last night and asked him about the article I read. He said that he had heard from Ford about it also and said that 13 Thousand Mustang orders would not be able to be filled (I don't know if that was a national number or a regional number). He said I was third on his list and that it was in the c/u status. He said that "we are ok unless it gets changed to the bounce status and then we're in trouble". He also said he had 7 Mustang GTs total on order.
So.....who thinks I will get and and who thinks I won't?
Personally....if there are people with orders before me ESPECIALLY from last year I would rather them get theirs......it would just not be fair if they didn't and I did. But I am in a "Sunbelt" state (I think).
What's your situation?

I think you will get your stang. I order mine on 11-11-04. It been 5 months and its on its way to the dealer (so my dealer says). So you ordered in March plus 5 months I see you driving around in that new stang in Aug. Keep your fingers crossed................

Put me on the board. Ordered mine on 3-28 from Capitol Ford in Raleigh, NC. They claim to have the highest "car" volume in NC. Will be happy even if my order rolls over to an 06. Would have ordered earlier but had to get rid of a boat first.

Well, a strange thing happened on the phone with my dealer. A couple of weeks ago the stang ahead of me was pulled. Yesterday, my dealer told me that all the GTs and 1 V6 orders that were behind me were dropped.
However, mine was not dropped.
Is this a good sign? If Ford didn't want to build it why didn't they drop it? Maybe they expect to pull it?

I *re-ordered* my GT on 3/4/05 from a large volume dealer in Minnesota. No word on a build date, they estimate the end of May, but no word yet.
They tell me I'm number 4 in line for a GT and they were 'shocked' when I told them that I wouldn't be suprised if I didn't get the car.
Good luck to all who are waiting
