Will the 98 Cobra wheels fit?
Will the 98 Cobra wheels fit?
I have been forced to start driving my 2005 GT in the winter this year
so I need some rims and tires for the cold. I found someone who had a 1998 Cobra that had winter rims and tires. I know the bolt pattern is the same, but the spacing is probably different. Will this cause problems?...or just look odd? I can handle looking odd for the winter months as the deal is hard to pass up, but I obviously don't want any problems.

If they are 17x8 with a 32mm offset they will clear the front brakes. They'll be a lot closer to the fender but wont stick out.
I'm running 18x8.5 with a 25mm offset up front and they are slightly tucked under the fender with a bit a slight negative chamber over stock.

Yes they'd fit. I run a set on the back for drag radials and I also have a set of stock 17x8 bullitts from my 96 that have been on the s197 and they fit without sticking out given they have 245's up front and out back.

I'll see if I can find a picture of the bullitts on there.

They should fit just fine, especially with winter tires that are stock size or narrower. I've used 17x8 SN95/New Edge wheels on my '08 GT in the past for autocrossing, and had no rubbing issues or any other problems. If the tires are sized for the '98 Cobra, the overall diameter will be a good bit smaller, which will throw your speedometer off a bit, but as long as you realize how much error there is, you can compensate for it.
