Why is Ford holding cars?
#1
Hi there!
Have been patient until the ETA date (12/26). Since then, have been talking to Ford Cust. Service, the dealer and even the likely carrier (AAG). None of them know exactly what's going on. All I know is that:
1) Ford says the car was built. Shipped on Dec-19. Today, they are unable to tell me where the car is and the reason for the delay. They put a trace on it today and am expecting a call back tomorrow.
2) The dealership tells me the car is in Shelby, NC.
3) After speaking with AAG today, I learn that the Shelby terminal is actually a Ford terminal where cars wait to be loaded on rail cars via the carrier, in my case, most likely AAG.
So... what I'd like to know is why Ford is not releasing the vehicle to the carrier. Do anyone have any clue? Anyone has a similar case?
I know I'm not the only one with a late delivery. This is getting annoying though. In this day and age with bar coding and all the technology, it shouldn't be that hard to locate a vehicle in transit... Thanks for the help.

I think the logical explanation is nobody took into account the holiday shutdown.
Your original ETA fell right into the space in time when NOBODY did ANYTHING for 2 weeks. If in fact your car is in Shelby, NC and it's a Ford facility that pretty much tells the story. That means there is now a backlog that will have to be cleared before things return to normal.
