Why does Car Companies do this?
#1
Why do car companies always do this sort of thing? I'm planning on getting a Mustang convertible this spring and I was pricing a V6 convertible on the Ford site. I think the Pony package looks great so Iwas pricing a '06 Mustang with the Pony package BUT I found that with the Pony Package Ford requires you get an Auto Trans. I don't want an Auto Trans. I want a manual, I don't see anything in the Pony package that looks like it should require the car to be an Auto! Why do the car companies always do that?
Why not just let the customer get a car with the manual if they want?

Number 6 is correct in that to order the Pony Package on the V6 'Vert Ford automatically adds an auto transmission.
I went to the Ford Direct site to see if I could build and price a 2006 Mustang V6 with the Pony Package and the manual transmission.
On the coupe I was able to add the Pony Package and found the automatic transmission was an available option on the car, but when I tried to add the Pony Package to a V6 'Vert a pop-up appeared letting me know the price would increase with the package and an automatic transmission would be added and asked if I wanted to continue with pricing, and I said 'yes'.
On the next screen I tried to delete the automatic transmission and another pop-up appeared telling me if I removed the automatic the Pony Package would be removed also.
Maybe one of the dealers here could provide additional information about an automatic transmission is required on a V6 'Vert but not on a V6 Coupe.
