Who would buy a raffle ticket to win a 05 Mustang?

Edit: If you read this far, you should see that the 2nd post below from Acadian says that no matter what, there would be a maximum number of tickets sold, so the rest of this post is unnecessary
There's also the additional variable of whether there is a limit upon the number of tickets sold. If there was a limit (say 300) at $100/ticket, I'd buy a $100 ticket or two. If there wasn't a limit at $100, I'd be somewhat less willing to buy the $100 ticket... or at least buy more than one. You might be able to get higher dollar tickets with a maximum ticket sale. This has already been discussed on that other thread, but I was wondering if there was some way to integrate it into a poll like this?
Double the number of choices...
$20/no limit
$20/1500 limit
$30/no limit
$30/1000 limit
$50/no limit
$50/600 limit
$100/no limit
$100/300 limit
(I'm assuming we're trying to hit $30,000 to make the numbers easy for me)
Perhaps just post to the thread Personally, I'd spend up to $100 with no limit... perhaps up to $200 with a ticket limit. It's the price of a reasonable mod with the possibility of getting far more than that and, even better, helping out Acadian!

Mark, thanks for starting this poll. This will give me a good idea of whether or not to go through with it... and if so, how much to charge for a ticket. And keep in mind people who haven't voted yet... the less money the tickets are, the more that need to be sold, the less your chances. I would personally much rather pay $100 for a 1 in 300 chance than $20 for a 1 in 1,500 chance. I think $50 for a 1 in 600 chance is a good compromise though. I guess we'll see where this goes after more votes. Everybody please VOTE!!!! And vote honestly. This poll will be the deciding factor on what I do.

I can tell you right now there would be a limit no matter what. I originally thought of making no limit... and whatever amount was raised above the amount I want for the car would be donated to a charity. But, if you have an unlimited amount of tickets, that means the odds aren't set, and can get worse the more tickets are sold. That of course os going to make people not want to get a ticket. The number of tickets would be fixed, and so would the odds.
And for those that are curious, I am looking to get $30k even for the car. The amount I owe the bank on my car, plus all mods (credit cards) go just over $33k. I divided my mods in half (I should naturally cut some losses on aftermarket mods and want to be fair) and got $30k. So, if tickets were $50, 600 would need to be sold.
Everyone please vote away...

$50 vote from me....
Also, as an option, give the TMS members a timeframe to buy tickets in and then put the remainder of the tickets up for sale on ebay.

I'd pay $50 whether there was a ticket limit or not. I think that's a reasonable gamble on winning an awesome car. Hopefully you can get a good enough response to be able to do it this way. And that eBay idea is good too. Between 10,000 members here and the 3 zillion people who use eBay, I'd like to think you could get .0001% of the people to be interested enough to buy a ticket and sell enough.

What about this idea?
Individual agent holds raffle in state where it is allowed. Winning ticket for 05 mustang.
40K in tickets sold. Agent purchases 05 mustang from Ian. Red Cross or other agency receives 10K
That should get by any legal issues I would think.

I'm in. Whatever you decides on price is fine with me.

To limit it at 300 tickets, I'd go $100. Seems to be a VERY reachable goal.
As a side note, I used to own a Lincoln Mark VIII and there was a guy who passed away at an early age, leaving behind a wife and 2 young children. The guys at MarkVIII.org put together a raffle for $10 each and ponied up almost $9K for her (car was worth maybe $6K). Bum deal was, the guy who won actually took the car, I told my wife that if I won the car it was staying with the family.
Now a Mustang on the other hand, sorry Acadian, but I'll drive that thing away in a heartbeat!

Better get a good lawyer if you are going to go this route, not sure if the IRS, Gambling Commission, etc. will have a problem with this but better to be safe than sorry. There is probably a reason why you only see this kind of thing run by non-profits.
