Who knows how to repair a pleather scratch?

OK, so, I have about a 3 inch scratch on my seat...created by a metal button on my jeans...duh! Anyway, don't want to replace the whole thing: anyone has any idea on how to repair this pleather thing?

Right. Its like a cow rubbing barbed wire sometime during its life. It's in the hide forever - even after the tanning process.

Saddlesoap and Lexol soften it and condition it but can't remove it entirely. Might need to sit on a towel or something - or ditch the jeans.
