Im in Alabammy. I want my car yesterday. Simple.

When they finally see fit to bless us with the 05's presence- will every dealer in the US get it the same day, or will they do it by region state or what? I am going to have to move if some state or city is in line before us.

Tell..

Job 1 is September 7th. That is the first production day. Someone here said that special orders will be before retail orders, so the earlier you place your order the better chance you have of getting it earlier. That being said, first week of October I would guess is when most of us will be receiving our 05s.

Whenever I can test drive it at the dealers lot.

I refuse to buy a car until I test drive it.

Plus I dont have the money... so it works out good.

I bet the highest volume dealers will see the first cars. Regardless of region.

i agree crazyhorse...they play favorites in this case, but perhaps they'll be the first to get their special orders, and we'll just get them in order based on that

might be something to think about then...maybe call up one or two and find out who is #1 around where you live...or even better...go on www.fordvehicles.com, build some car (preferably something really new), and then see who has the biggest inventory of them in stock. Chances are they're the biggest seller.

Well on the bright side- if they keep pushing it back....I get a heckova birthday present in January. Maybe I outta quit my job and go sell Mustangs for a living.

If you think on the dark side-
May 05 was the original production date- then it was August, then September, now its stretching into the wintertime. I don't understand why this is happening, because I have never seen this level of interest in a car before.

I promise you all, I am not trying to be a pain in the rear end, but I have never wanted something this bad before. Past Mustangs have been "pretty" but I have not killed myself trying to get one. I have been responsible, driving responsible point a to b cars. I am TIRED of that. I have to drive my kids to school and drive on field trips- 300+ miles a week, If I have to do that, I want to have fun doing so. I have done exactly what I am supposed to do for too long, its time to live a little.

Im starting to get a little antsy This one here I can't stop looking at, but while I want it, I dont WANT!! it. Lovely to look at, the orange, sounds like a dream, but there are two little things that are keeping me from saying let's take her home- the audio in it is a little off. (it has a 4 speaker stereo, I have a 8 with XM now) and the whole trunk thing- teeny and no trunk release in it. I dont want to lose faith, I just cant.

The largest ford dealer in the country is in texas. The next largest is about ten min from me here in socal. My guess is that they would get some consideration from ford. Whats even better is that the dealer in socal will pretty much give cars away if you know how to work the system.

Next april i'll be walking out of the dealer with my 05 for the price of an ad car. :flag2:

Where's that largest dealer in that's in Texas? Name? Just wondering if bigger dealer = more leverage for me on sale price.

And I have to get my wife a newer/bigger car first, so doesn't look like I'll get my '05 Mustang until '06 (but then it'd be a '06 Mustang )
