I just got a call from my salesman saying my car should be here by June 15th. Sounds like great news except that the ERL is still telling me I have a build week of June 20th and it isn't "Locked in" yet. Anybody want to take a guess what is going on? I'm all for the earlier date, but I was going to try and sell my current car privately and I don't want to sell it and then not have a car for three weeks.

I haven't been bugging the dealer much lately so I don't think they are just giving me an early date to get me to leave them alone or not go to another dealer. Could the dealer have put in a second order with the same specs at a higher priority as the VOC they gave me so I'm using the wrong order number or something?

Tell them you've been checking on your order, and if the car is supposed to be delivered by June 15th then you defenitely have the wrong order number or they have the wrong info. I would actually ask to talk to the guy that puts in the orders (at least at my dealer he was most helpful with my questions).

If you trust your dealer, believe them, they get info from CONCEPTS which is their computer system, the ERL is behind and does not get updated frequently.

When I ordered my car on October 20 my dealer said the car would arrive in 8 weeks. I picked up my DORA and VIN on November 4 and noticed I had a Priority 20, so I asked about the number and he told me 'doesn't matter since your car is being built (build date October 28)'...but when I called Ford Customer Service I was told the car was NOT being built...it was on a temporary delay in production', and remained in that status until early December when it got a build date.
Maybe in some cases the dealer has the correct information, i other cases it seems like the ERL or Ford has more information then the dealer.

The dealer and the ERL were right on with each other for me. In your case, I would like to say to believe your dealer, but we all know how that could go. Like an earlier poster, I would recommend telling the dealer about what the ERL said. Maybe there is a discrepancy somewhere, and the sooner you find it, the better!

ERL always mirrored exactly what was in concepts, better safe than sorry, I would confirm with the dealer for sure.

You can call Ford and talk to a rep. They can tell you what's going on. The dealer doesn't like when we do that because every time we call, Ford sends the dealer a memo telling them about the call. My dealer said it made him look bad.

ERL and my dealer were the same and both were wrong. My delivery date was supposed to be next Monday, but it came in today. I think they over-estimate delivery so we won't be disappointed.

Between the dealer and ERL, I would believe ERL.

I have to say my dealer was always ahead of ERL sometimes by a full week. I was driving it and she was still just spitting out build week info. so trust your dealer.
