Where's the Mustang commercials!
Where's the Mustang commercials!
Been working on a customer's pc all night and had the TV running. In about 8 hours I saw a total of 23 Ford Truck Ads, about 4 Focus ad's and a bunch of stuff about erectile dysfunction and cholestrol whatever...
If Mustang sales are down from this time last year then why aren't they being promoted. The new 08 sales year is pretty young so where's the push?
Wouldn't everybody like a bright shiny new GT under the tree this year??
Apparently Lexus and Mercedes think so...

I think that Ford knows that a goodly number of Mustang drivers "put the ponys in the Barn" for winter, and more likely to need to get a deal on a new 4x4 to make it through the adverse weather. I am one of the few
that actually drive it though out the winter. Of course, if the snow gets too deep, I have to "liberate" my wife's Explorer.

I saw one the other day with a yellow stang. And of course, there was one of my favorite where mike rowe (the announcer) says "since the ford mustang has no competition..."
My Favorite!! Maybe Ford doesn't think they need Mustang Comercials right now?
Awesome commercial.
I think you don't see so many Mustang commercials because it doesn't really need any. The Mustang sells itself. I know I didn't need a commercial to convince me to buy one.
In fact, I think there is something quietly confident about not having or needing commercials. And also in not having the word "Mustang" stamped into our bumper, because our cars are such a cultural icon that nobody needs to read the label to know it's a Mustang. Our cars driving and existing on the roads are enough advertisement alone.

See now those are all cool, and I haven't seen any of them before. I have satellite TV, you'd think I would have caught one of them!
Noooo, I get to see stupid truck ads and Hyundais...
In this market I wouldn't count on the quality of the car selling itself. The airwaves are too littered with competition to trust that kind of promotion.

I wish ford would hear us out and gather up some people with modded mustangs and some driving vids (maybe some race vids) and bunch them up for a mustang commercial, then at the end push the new stang. Would be an awesome commercial, i know chevy might be doing one for the new camero
It's because so many people drive mustangs that they advertise themself. Ford Focus, F150 and the new Ford Edge arnt around as much so they need avertising. I can probably spot 2-3 mustangs going to work and another 2-3 on the way home.
