Where to buy a leather wrap steering wheel?
I've found an '06 GT with leather interior...but no leather wrap wheel. I was wondering if you can just buy one directly from Ford? Or maybe there's somewhere else to get one?
You can buy it new from Ford but the best thing to do is search eBay. Those steering wheels come up quite often for sale from salvage parts sellers.
You have several options including the GT500 or Bullitt wheel from Ford (one has red stitching the other has black), but unless you can find one used, they are very pricey. Here's one place as an example that carries them. Bullitt steering wheel
Another option is the IUP wheel that came with that package in GTs and is a bit cheaper than the Bullitt wheel. These pop up quite regularly in the classifieds.

One other option is the new steering wheels from Grant in which they take a stock GT IUP wheel and upgrade the leather and padding. Grant steering wheel

Hey bud, I just sent you a PM. I got a IUP wheel that is in great shape (I switched to a 2012 GT500 wheel). Its sitting here in my office waiting for someone to want it. Let me know if your interested. We're both from PA and your not too far from me. Let me know.
I bought a leather Bullitt steering wheel the week I bought my '08 GT, it had the cheap plastic steering wheel too. Only paid $260-280 for it IIRC, but it is over $400 now at most places I believe. I like it better than the IUP wheel, but the IUP wheel is much nicer than the base plastic wheel, and can often be found for $100-150 used.
search mustang leather steering on ebay...put in 'iup' and the price is usually higher as folks selling know they are 'special'. I found one for our 09 for 50 bucks on ebay, typically iup wheels go closer to 150- at least back when I was looking.
