I have received some conflicting info from salesmen (imagine that) about the standard wheels on the GT. Will they be the Bullit style wheels, or the other aluminum ones I am typically seeing in released pics of the new GT?

Bullet style or the (mag wheels) "keystone" wheels of the 60-70's

The bullits are standard.

The machined bright ones that you see on pics are optional.

I find it funny that a lot of people prefer the standard bullits. I am one of them, of course.

I like the Bullitts too, but already have them on my 99' -- naturally, don't need two different Mustangs with the same rims even if I do love em'.

Plus, my white 99 has metallic Hi-Fi Blue shelby stripes and the 2005 will have metallic silver stripes, so I want those 18" chrome thrust rims on the gunmetal colored show 2005 GT.

if i was gonna get the new stang, i wouldnt get the optional wheels. the standard bullitt wheels are better imo. the 18' optional wheels that may be offered in the future are very nice, but i dont think i would get those either.

Bullits are the way to go, I think they look better on practically all the colors.

I agree the dark gray of the bullits, brings back the tough look of the 60's...

I dont think the modern looking optional rims look good with the retro body styling. I'm getting the bullits.

Thanks for the info. I too like the bullits. Actually, I would have thought they would be the option. After the initial fever dies down, a silver gt with the red leather may be in my driveway. (Preferably with the spoiler delete.) Great forum!

Yeah I'm beginning to regret my decision to go with the upgrade wheels. The more pics I see of the bullits the more I like them.

i did the same thing.. got the optional wheels... but the way i figure, by the time things start rolling the aftermarket will have beep dish bullits in black in 18's or 19's.... then i'll sell my oem rims.

I got the optional wheels, and have heard from a few people on this forum who've seen them in person that they are way better in person than in 90% of the pics we see.

If, after I get it I think they stink - then it won't be too hard to swap them for something else anyway, and probably move up to 18's.

very good strategy. these new bullitts have been getting some flack because theyre not deep enough, and theyre 17's. waiting for deeper 18' bullitts is the best way to go

Pardon my ignorance, but could someone please post a pic of bullet rims and the upgraded ones? I am going to order soon and I didn't know there were options.

Download the order guide, they are in there. You should have it anyway so you can figure out all the options you want.

I find the bullet down right ugly on the new body style, and find them attractive on the older style. They redesigned the whole car and kept the standard rim, seems kind of strange IMO.
