If its beige or light grey interior is looks pretty darn good without it too. The charcoal can be just a bit much, but still not bad. The aftermarket will have a field day with the totally flat panels either way.

The whole interior needs to be redone.I would of been more then happy to pay the extra 1k for some materials to replace the cheap looking plastics that are all over the place. So does the Iup help? yes yes yes The cars interior looks more like something testors model company would make without it.

ps: would anyone have a interior pic with Iup and lite graphite cloth interior?...i was thinking this combo might help break up the all black plastic look, and with the cloth, help provide some fabric change too.

avril-Talk about really being against IUP.

here is why it is completely worth it

-Makes the interior look classier
-Real aluminum on dash
-Cool brushed aluminum skid plates
-Have you actually sat in this car? You would definately see the difference, and to top it off, you also get a cooler gear shift ****, and if you have a manual like I do, that is very welcome.

O, and you CAN'T get side airbags without it. Need I say anything else?

And you cannot get the ICAP without the IUP....
dude neal wins with this post and pic......the ICAP is something that this car NEEDS!! im getting it weather i have to wait or not [/b][/quote]
Hello. Not to mention that you have to order the IUP to get the Side Airbags.

So Current score~ IUP 2 Avril 1

Besides IMO the IUP adds flavor to an otherwise blan interior. And the My Color option will be nice. Especially for someone like me who likes change. I mean come on, I am someone who rearranges funiture like once every 3 months. So, IUP will defiently be a nice little toy for me to play with. Besides, I NEED my extra 2 gagues. Dummy lights are not enough for me.

Sorry badandy~ I see now that you beat me to the side airbag option. Either way, Non-IUP is loosing in the score column right now.

To each his own.
As long as we all get what we want then there is no problem.
It's good that there is variety in tastes, obviously some dont like to be sheep, and that gets proven whe topics like this come up.

It stinks that Ford has the side airbags dependant on the IUP. Ideally it would be standard...

I have a feeling that some aftermarket company will put out some dash/interior upgrade items.

I like the alum "thingies" and I have not looked but it almost looks like "stick on" - is it?

Ron.... The aluminum 'thingies' are the real McCoy aluminum (assuming you mean the '05) and not stick-ons. IUP all the way.....and color accent pkg. for good measure.

If you read the book "Mustang a New Breed of Pony Car 2005" that was talked about in an earlier post, it states the the IUP was standard on the GT. There are a few other interesting bits about the car that were changed after the book was written.

I had not thought of this before but if you need the IUP to get the side airbags then the V6 con no longer get the side air bags. Will the IUP lite going to take care of that?

The new IUP lite doesnt look that bad. Aftermarket will probably come out with dash covers.

I test drove a black GT without IUP and I have a silver GT with IUP. The difference is like night and day and well worth the wait. It provides just the right amount of contrast on the dash and with the handles on the doors etc. Without it it just seemed too all one color for me. I guess its preference but if I had to re-order now I would still go IUP and just wait.

I agree with whoever said 'to each his own'.....

I have dark charcoal without the IUP and I have no complaints at all. However, I do wish ford would have included the same gauge cluster in all models, or at least the 4 center gauges. Either way, they both have the same thing under the hood!

On a side note....
I did read the other day, while waiting around in wal-mart, that the aluminum on the dash reflects anything and everything to the point where it is annoying. Any truth to that claim?

I got the premium, non IUP, and it's great. I've gotten used to the lack of gadgets that I missed at first: outside temp, compass, mpg, range, all that stuff. I do wish I had oil pressure and charge gauges, though.

When I started looking into this car, I wanted IUP. Local dealer had one without it, and guess what, no looking back. I love it.
is outside temp, and compass really part of it?

Is this availabe on the Mustang with IUP?? I never saw anything about compaass and temperature. My Jeep has that, but I didn't know a mustang did.

IMO...I wouldn't have gotten it without the IUP. It adds a sporty and tough feel to the inside. I love the Aluminum!

After being behind the wheel of it, my opinion is that the pic of non-IUP is deceptively good looking. IUP does look better in real life. But whatever.. to each his own.

*** BUT **, the big difference that shouldnt be forgotten is that the feel of the non-IUP steering wheel is one of the worst on the road. This alone would be enough reason for me to get IUP.

I couldn't disagree more Arvil. The IUP makes the car for me. If it were never concieved, would I still want a new Mustang? Definately. Now that I've seen the IUP, would I consider one without? No way.

I don't understand the glare complaints. I don't know about y'all, but if it is bright enough out to reflect the sun off of the aluminum, I'll be wearin' shades anyway. B)
