I called the 800 number for Ford and the computer shows that the car is off the train today. According to Ford, the car should be delivered anytime between today (the 11th) and next Thursday-this information was updated as of yesterday (the 10th) in the computer. I called my dealership today and asked if they had heard anything. The sales manager immediately said that the car was due at the end of the month. Obviously he didn't look it up in the computer because he had the answer so quickly. He said that time from the rail depot to the dealer can vary depending on how many cars are ahead of it in the yard and off the train. Anyway, I am chomping at the bit here for a few reasons. The first is obvious, I want to get in the car and drive it. Second, I don't want the dealer demoing my car.

So, do any of you guys (or gals) have any idea how long it usually takes to get from the rail yard to the dealership? In my case the yard is in Maryland and I am in Northern Virginia.

Thanks.

John

If you're close to the dealer, drive by everyday. however, Ford's system doesn't seem to be too accurate. My salesman's car was scheduled to be delivered two weeks ago...

Just tell the dealer you don't want anybody to drive your car to demo..... If it's your car, they shouldn't do this anyway IMO. B)

Here is my experience: The car arrived at the railhead on a Tuesday (the railhead is about a 4-5 hr drive from me). I called the dealer, and he said to allow another week. Two days later I found the car being unloaded at the dealership. I had been driving past that dealership every morning and every evening for longer than I care to admit - all the while hoping to catch the new car. I am glad that I did. It was great meeting the truck driver, etc.

Thanks guys. I have told the dealer that I don't want the car being demoed and I definitely will start driving by the dealership once a day. I guess you can say I am obsessed.
