What type of torque wrench do you use on our S197's?

The lock ring is the locking device on this one particular wrench.
If you see one, you will understand.

I have had the Sears Craftsman 3/8" and 1/2" for close to 20 years, I use them regularly on 3 different vehicles and have never had a problem. I do adjust the lock ring back to zero per the owners manual after each use. Those who have had problems should return them to Sears, my experience is that Sears will replace them if they say Craftsman on them regardless of age.

Like NJ3 said , the torque wrenches are not considered hand tools and only have a year warranty. I had one and tried to get it replaced and that's when I found out ...

ive gotten so much garbage over the years from sears, even with there hand tools. i go to sears with a broken screw driver, and they ask me for a reciept!?!?!?!?!? and im like DUDE its a craftsman screw driver(lifetime warranty) who else friggin sells these except sears or Kmart! they are supposed to take that kind of stuff back and replace it due to warranty. i have had trouble like that with screwdrivers and other hand tools in the past.

its kind of a hassle at sears sometimes lol as some of you craftsman owners can tell. lol
