I found this rubber thing on the floor of my car. Anyone know what it is? My guess is that it is a protective cover for the bottom of the antenna? SInce they are not installed when the car is delivered to the dealer. Any Dealer prep guys that can confirm this? If it is not then I have no idea what it is.

OMG! Haha, I found that in my drivers side floor. Thought it was a button cover for the dome light, you know the old buttons that are pushed when you close your door. I've been searching everytime I open my door for a little exposed button to put it back on. Things been in my cup holder for a couple months now, guess I can safely throw it away.

Don't discard it whatever you do! Remember what happened to that guy that removed the red rubber band from under his hood? His hood kept popping open. Keep it. It might prove valuable later...

Okay I found out exactly what the rubber piece is for. Bad news for those of you who threw yours in the trash.
It covers the threads of a bolt that is in between the front fender and the door. If you look in between the front seam on either door you can see it with a flash light.
It looks like it is suppose to keep the front edge of the door from rubbing against the bolt threads. I figured this out as I was cleaning my car on the passenger side I saw this same rubber piece through the front crack of the passenger door. It was attached to the bolt thread.
So I had to dig mine out of the trash!
Kinda scary really how close the door edge actually comes to hitting this bolt! When the cap is on the bolt and you open and close the door the front edge of the door is actually rubbing against the rubber!
Perhaps it is just a manufacturing thing to protect the doors from scratching when fitting or or aligning them? I can't believe Ford Engineers would actually think this thing would stay on for the life of the vehicle. A decent power wash at the car wash blasting it in the right spot would probably blow it off.
