Mine and redGT's car were made on the same day, 11-24-04 and if the numbers are correct, they made 847 Mustangs in one day? Wonder if the date on the window sticker might not be the date the car was made?

Actually, the first Mustang has VIN 100,001 - so you substract 100,000 and add 1 - or subtract 100,001.

Just turned 5,000 miles on the way to work

 

Mine is 169472, that make it the 69,471th built. It was produced the week of 2/14/05 and took delivery 3/24/05.

Wish I could find out how many verts were built in 05 and where mine falls out in that category. Any ideas out there?

 

Mine is 101136 so 1136. I don't remember the exact build date but it was early September.

My VIN is 241634, 141634 serialized/produced, serialized on 5-26 and built 6-14.

 

how many units did they say they were going to produce....because this seems like way too many....for example mine....built april 11....last 6 digits....200596...that would=100596.....i thought they said they were only producing 100,000 units

 

i heard that is how it works, subtract 100,000 from your last 6 digits

however someone on here has a lower vin than me and was produced later

 

I think the build out will be for 190,000 to 192,000 units for MY2005.

Mine using that formula is 3,676. Built last week of September 2004. So, if they began builing September 7, 2004, and figure mine was built as of September 30, 2004, that would leave 23 days. Take 3,676 and divide it by 23 and that would mean they were building 160 cars per day - 7 days per week.

 

Mine was built Jan 27th and my number is 47350, so I do not think it is the number built in order but by VIN issuance.

 

If VIN number 100001 is car number 1 (100001 minus 100000), wouldn't car 147622 be number 47622 (147622 minus 100000)? Why add 1? Why subtract 100001? I am confused!

 

#1053....build date early september. I have been trying to find out exactly when but have had no luck yet. But you can bet it was one of the first few days of production.
