Well, I technically could afford the v8, with my cougar trade in which will hopefully be around $9k, and $6k cash. Then I could finance the rest for about 6 years for a hopefully under $200 monthly payment..
I'm assuming the GT would cost about $27k with a 3.9% loan rate, which is the rate for the 04 Mustang on the ford site.

Just figured out how I could afford either one, I just don't know about the 6 year finance on the GT, my dad's not a big fan of financing..
Do you guys think my purchase prices look accurate? I just guessed 27k for GT and 20k for V6.

I'm with hairy canary, you should really look at the side airbags, I have seen enough shunts to realise they are worth their weight in gold. Also, the lockable wheel lugs might be an idea if you are getting special wheels.
Just my opinion (don't delete the spoiler either, you will regret it later IMHO)

If he want's the spoiler delete, let him. It's his prerogative.
Deathmetal - I guess working from those numbers work for now, but there's really no point since even a slight change in the msrp and the payments could change dramatically. A guess is only a guess and could be wrong, so I wouldn't get to detailed in the financial aspect of it quite yet. It's up to you though, or course.

Well, my dad actually said I can buy a 05 GT, but I have to do something else first that should have been done years ago but I've been lazy
. That is sign up for college.
I just hope that once I get this taken care of that I can find a dealership with preorders still available..

Well, i'm out of the 05 market now. Decided to not trade in my Cougar, and have two cars so I can't afford a brand new 05 gt. Im going to get a 99 to 01 Gt and drive that in the summer, and use the Cougar in the winter, which can be nasty around here. Don't really feel like driving through snow and road salt with a brand new RWD Mustang
.
