What does "as of 4/19 shipped via convoy" mean?

It sounds like my car has been built, but other than that I have no idea what this means. I have seen references to shipped by rail, but what does shipped by convoy mean? Is there a long line of Mustangs driving east from Michigan?

I'm like a little kid waiting for Christmas. Last I heard from the dealer he said it was scheduled to be built the week of 4/18 with an ETA in Massachusetts of May 1? Is there any reason to doubt that prediction or to expect an earlier delivery?

 

Sounds like you car is built and is on it's way on the back of a truck. Congrats.

 

Means it was shipped by a truck to your dealer (or the train i've heard) Mine went via convoy all the way to the dealer, about 1-2 weeks

 

Isn't that amazing! From other posts it seems like they build about 800 a day (or was that week). Either way, it then takes them 2 weeks to get the car from Michigan to Chicago. Prarie schhoners crossed that distance in about 1/4th the time.
